Welcome to the Historian Page. My name is Nick Belford. In 2007 I was the statistician for the team and coached during practices. I am moving to the administration section of the organization. This page is dedicated to the history of the Blue Coats. I will be keeping track of past and present players, the numbers worn, locations represented and anything involving the Blue Coats.

The team name, colors and logo were developed by Ralph Liberatore and Dan Sanchez in July 2006. Our name, colors and logo are copywrite protected. The logo was a spinoff of the New England Patriots with a redesign to fit the Delaware Blue Coats needs. The face of the logo depicts a member of the Delaware Regiment who were called "Blue Coats" and fought at the "Battle of Cooches Bridge" in New Castle County De. during the Revolutionary War. The diamond and contained "D" represent Delaware as the "Diamond State" and the first state to join the union. Our colors represent the patriotism in our beliefs. The colors will always be RED, WHITE & BLUE. Both Dan and Ralph took one year to develop our operations, structure, and guidelines before introducing a pilot program to see what interest could be generated for 2007. In the fall of 2006, Ralph and Dan took a team and played in a Fall Senior League for Canal Little League. Based on that success, they continued with the uniform development and held tryouts with all players. A 15 man 18U team was developed.

Season Review for 18U Team: 6 Tournaments, 3 Semi-Final appearances, 1 Tournament w/Trophy and individual Medals.
