Wow!! Great job hitting today D Rays. Leading the way with 3 hits were Tony (3-4) with 3 RBI's and 1 BB, Brandon (3-4) with 2 RBI's and 1 BB, Matt S (3-4) with 3 RBI's and Matt B (3-3).
Mikey (2-2) with 1 RBI and 1 BB, Rob (2-4) all contributed big with 2 hits. Jimmy (1-1) and 1 BB, Will (1-1) and 1 BB, Andrew (1-1) and 1 BB were also solid performers with 1 hit each.
Scoring runs were Mikey 3, Tony 3, Will 2, Brandon 2, Ricky 2, Rob 2, Andrew 1, Anthony 1, and Jimmy 1.
Overall a real nice start with good team hitting with 19 hits, no extra base hits today. Room for improvement defensively with 3 errors.
Official score will go down as 13-3 do to the 10 run mercy rule after 5 complete. After an agreement to call the official game after the 5th inning, we then agreed to play on because we completed the 5 innings in 1 hr 45 min. In the top of the 6th we scored 4 more runs had men in scoring positions at 2nd and 3rd with 1 out when we had to stop play do to the umpire getting hit with a pitch in the family jewels.
Rob and Jimmy both pitched well. Stat summary coming soon.

D Rays 8 vs Philadelphia Pythons 1
April 8, 2005 --
D Rays pull out a win by a small rally in the top of the 5th inning. Nice team play, we are starting to become familar with our teammates, coaches and how to play together. We made some mistakes, I expected that but what I also expect us to fix them with a sense of urgency. If we do that we will be fine.
It is important to stick together, stack it up, in the beginning of the season to develope our new winning culture as a team.
Leading the way with 2 hits each were Carlos going 2-2 with a double. Brandon going 2-3 with a double. Ricky going 2-3 with a double. Other single hitters were Andrew (1-1), Matt S (1-3), Jimmy (1-2) and Anthony (1-2). All Pitchers contributed to the win with 1 inning each Brandon, Matt B, Matt S, Brett while Tony got a little extra work with 2 innings.
Looking forward to writing some nice stats this year.

D Rays 17 vs Phila Stars 2
Leading the way this weekend with 4 hits each were Brandon Sheets going 4-7 with 2 doubles and Mike Milward going 4-5. Ricky Ponto was a big contributor going 3-4. Other extra base hitters were Tony Messina going 2-4 with a double and Matt Seybert going 2-6 with a double. Carlos Sepulveda helped the D Ray players out going 2-5. Anthony Valori, Brett Danifo, Andrew Mucerino and Matt Barr all helped out with one hit each.
Alec Mog and Jeff Lynch both started pitching and performed real well. Tony Messina and Brandon Sheets helped close out both games real strong to seal the victories. Tony and Jeff get the wins!
Considering it was our first time out on the field this year as a team and we haven't even had a practice outside, they showed great heart and determination and we should all be proud of each and every player. Most importantly, we are showing progress in being a true team, one that stands by each and every player.
Thanks to my staff for all the pre-season training and support. Remember parents we believe in giving respect to each player and we will get it back in return. Please help support that philosophy when you are alone with your players, riding in the car, talking at home or where ever. If you are positive about the team and coaching staff, it will be easier for them to be positive and supportive. On the same hand, if you are negative about anything, they in turn will become negative. Your attitude will influence your player, so please, have a good one!
