    2005 Season Summary

The 2005 Ram season came to close against Rising Sun in the first game of the Regional Play-offs with Rising Sun coming away with the victory. Mike Smith starting his last game as a Ram pitched masterfully recording 9 strikeouts until the Rams defense folded up the tent and let the game slip away. A young Rams team actually played .500 ball for the season going 9-9 on the year and finishing second in the Susquehanna Division with a 7-4 record behind a fine Havre De Grace team (9-2) that went to the State Finals game and lost a heart breaker. With Havre De Grace making the move up to the Chesapeake Division, that means someone has to come back down. It was a dogfight for the basement up there with CM Wright finishing with a 4-8 record and Bel Air and Tech both with a 3-9 record. To show you how bizarre the year was, Bel Air and CM Wright both won regional titles despite their poor regular season records. Tech will make the trip back to the Susquehanna Division for next season.

Three players made it to the Aegis All County teams with Chris Ackerman(Jr), Mike Smith (Sr), and Peter Harbach(Jr) all making the Aegis 2nd team.

Final Aegis 2004 Stats and Standings

The 2004 Rams season ended with a 9-11 overall record, making extreme progress from the previous years' 1-14 finish. The Rams led the Susquahanna league in runs per game with 7.3, and a third place finish with a 5-6 record. In post season play the Rams got by Wicomico High 5-3, with Mike Smith knotching the victory, avenging last years loss to Wi High 18-2 in post season play.

In the final game of the season at JM Bennett, the Rams defense broke down committing 7 errors during the contest. All seven Bennett runs were unearned---final score 7-4. The Rams did not go down without a fight though as they packed the bases full in the final inning, but came up short. Cliff Humphreys pitched the final game of his high school career allowing only five scattered singles from the torrid hitting JM Bennett team (15-1). JM Bennett went on to win the Regional Title and were the runner-up in the State title game.

    Final Aegis 2004 Batting Stats

Danny Bosley won the Harford County batting title knocking the cowhide to a .588 average, besting runner-up Mike Ferracci also of the Rams by 34 percentage points(.554).Cliff Humphreys finished fourth in the county batting .492, with Jon Hart finishing in the 6th spot with an average of .485.

This foursome of players knocked in over half of the runs scored by the Rams this season and combined for 131 hits, and scored 103 of the 146 runs scored by the entire team. Thats a lot of smackin' going on there!
