Morici’s came back from the loser’s bracket to capture their first Easton Women’s Softball League title in dramatic fashion.  Morici’s finished the regular season at 15-4 while going 8-1 in the playoffs..  Seeded 4^th in the 14 team double elimination tournament bracket, Morici’s won their first game against Whatever, but lost a close game to the #5 seed Hecktown Last Call which dropped them into the loser’s bracket.  Morici’s then edged Shruty’s Pub 10-7 & proceeded to win doubleheaders on the last three nights of the season to cap off their 8-1 record.  In doing so, they knocked off the #1 seed, #2 seed and the #3 seed before having to beat the #5 seed twice to take the championship.  Team batting leaders include Jeannine Ostrander w/4 HRs, Tammy Emery, Jeanine Gunther, Tara Encarnacion, Tara Greig, and Jill Fuduric, who had the game-winning hit in the bottom of the 7^th against Hecktown in the finale.

...2006...LJ Zucca Jags ended Flynn's Catering 12 year stranglehold on the Easton Women's League title with a 2-0 win on Tuesday night.  Zucca scored twice in the bottom of the 2nd inning on 4 hits, but managed only 2 hits the rest of the way.  Erica Biery had 2 hits & drove in the Game Winner for Zucca and also had some key plays at first base.
Jen Bertrand & Colleen Baker had 2 hits each for Flynn's who managed only 5 hits.  Donna Riegel was the winning pitcher.  The last team to win other than Flynn's was the Tatamy Fire Co. which had some of the same players as this year's JAGS.
