Austin Hurd - Signs with Towson University
All-Gazette pitcher Austin Hurd, a 2005 senior at Gaithersburg High, recently signed a partial scholarship to play baseball at Towson University, a Division I program in the Colonial Athletic Association.
Brian McKenna - Signs with Evansville Otters
Brian played baseball in GSA since the time he was eight years old. After an outstanding high school career at Watkins Mill, Brian attended Towson University, played four years of baseball and was voted to the Verizon Academic All-American Team in 2003 (See Links for Gazette article). GSA has received news that Brian has signed with the Evansville Otters of the Frontier League.

Of twenty players named to the All-Gazette baseball team, Matt Brady, Brian Conley, Benji Marshall and Kyle Skellchock all played on the GSA Metrofleet team. Jeff Williams and Greg Furmanek presently play on the GSA American Legion Post 104 team. Joel Katz, Ian Marshall, Matt Strawbridge and Kevin Vavreck, who received All-Gazette Honorable Mention played on GSA Metrofleet or GSA MCBA teams. Benji Marshal and Jeff Williams were also selected to play on Team Maryland, a select team that travels to Oklahoma to represent the state of Maryland in a national tournament.
