The Minor League program is an instructional/competitive league dedicated to enhancing individual baseball skills and knowledge, providing friendly team competition, and promoting sportsmanship.
The Minor League usually consist of 6-8 teams of 12-14 players ages 9-11. HTLL expects that a few exceptionally talented 8 year olds will play up in the Minor League.
All new players (except 7 year olds) to the league must attend Player Evaluation Day in March so equitable team drafts can take place.
Any 8 year old who wants to be considered for the Minor League must ackowledge this to the Player Agent before evaluations.
Any 11 year old wishing to stay in the Minor League must acknowledge this to the player agent prior to Player evaluations.
After evaluations, a few 11 year olds may be assigned to the Minor League for an additional year of skill development.
All 12 year olds must play in the Major League.
There are typically 17-20 regular season Minor League games, and two practices a week. Playoffs are single elimination. The season runs from early -mid April to late June and includes playoffs.
