LGSA Elite Program Guidelines and Information
LGSA ELITE - TRAVEL TEAMS
2009 LGSA ELITE Head Coaches:

NOTE: Program Fees will be reviewed each year 2009 fees will be the same or similar to 2008.
LGSA ELITE TEAM PROGRAM RULES
1. The LGSA will endorse the formation of a Fast-pitch Travel program for 10U - 16U divisions. As well as a 8 and Under Tournament Team.
2. There will be at least one team from each of the above divisions, as long as there are a sufficient number of players.
3. The LGSA Board will approve the Manager and Assistant Coach for each team.
4. Tryouts will be open to any interested player. Age requirement is per NSA rules.
5. The manager and assistant coaches will select the players who will participate on each LGSA ELITE team.
6. Uniforms and Equipment:
A. The LGSA will provide each team with equipment.
B. The LGSA will provide for entry into at least three tournaments selected by the LGSA. In addition, LGSA ELITE Teams will be allowed to participate in LGSA Tournaments without charge.
7. The teams will participate in the following activities to help offset cost: These activities will be limited.
A. Litter control or pick-up at LGSA hosted tournaments.
B. Assist with sale of State Tournament programs.
C. Assist with sale of tournament “tee shirts”.
D. Possible fund-raising.
E. Concession Stand duty.
8. Players selected to the tournament team program agree to be committed to the LGSA ELITE team and agree not to participate on another Tournament or Travel team which conflicts with LGSA ELITE Team.
8U and 10U ELITE Teams:
1. 8U and 10U players will be required to play in the LGSA League during the regular season.
2. Tournament team practice will be scheduled in a manner to avoid conflict with player’s regular league team. League games and practices must be attended. Unless excused by her coach, a player not attending league team practice or game will not be permitted to remain on the LGSA Tournament team. A player may be excused from a regular league practice at the sole discretion of her league teams’ coach.
3. The LGSA will make every effort to schedule league games in a manner that will provide teams with sufficient time to participate in various tournaments.
4. Player fees for 2009 are to be determined. This fee includes a complete player uniform; entry fee for two additional tournaments beyond LGSA hosted tourneys, and help pay for equipment. Any fundraising can be used for teams to play in additional tournaments.
12U, 14U and 16U ELITE Teams:
1. LGSA ELITE teams will be permitted to play in the LGSA, but must “play up” at least ONE division.
2. Teams may schedule “non-league” games at Martens Park if Diamonds are available.
3. Player fees for 2009 to be determined for each age group. This includes complete Team uniform, LGSA Registration, entry fee for two (2) additional tournaments beyond LGSA hosted tourneys. Each team would pay entry for additional tournaments.
