Manager's Please attach this coversheet to your Freeze Forms prior to the draft. You must sign the cover sheet. You must have a "freeze" form for every player frozen in accordance with the rules. If you have any questions, please contact your league President. Thanks

I. D. Badges Must Be Worn!!!
Please Be Reminded that only Coaches and Assistants with valid I.D. can be on the field working with the children or in the dugouts. The Town of Miami Lakes is authorized and will ask coaches to leave the field until they have a valid I.D. on their person.
In order to recieve a valid I.D. adults volunteers, coaches, managers, league administrators and umpires must obtain, complete and submit a Town of Miami Lakes Background Check form.
Managers and Coaches must also complete a NAYS Coaches Certification Clinic which is offered by the Town of Miami Lakes prior to the start of each season!

General Announcement
Friends of Miami Lakes Optimist Baseball/Softball:
1) Please be advised that baseball registration for the 2008 Miami Lakes Optimist Spring Baseball season is Closed! Colt Division will accept applications until April 1st! All Divisions will accept waiting list applicants. If your child is not already in our system, you MUST bring an original birth certificate or passport to document age.
2) To any potential coaches, managers or other volunteers:
Coaching is a priveledge not a right! We Welcome volunteers and seek those who comply with policy & procedures
All Team Managers must complete an application and be nominated by the appropriate Division League President! You will not be allowed to begin the season without a valid Town of Miami Lakes background check and I.D.
YOU MUST HAVE ONE OF THE NEW ID CARDS BEFORE YOU BEGIN PRACTICES!
You may find the background form on the MLO website. Complete it, fax it in yourself and then you can get your picture taken and pick up your ID from the Town.
3) This season, we will be implementing the Little League pitch count guidelines for baseball. Coaches will be expected to adhere to these guidelines and keep track of pitches for all pitchers during a game. The guidelines can be found on the baseball and coaches corner links for the benefit of all coaches and parents. It is up to all of us to act in the best interest of our young athletes and protect the arms of young pitchers.

PITCH COUNT EFFECTIVE 2009!
Miami Lakes Optimist has adopted the Little League Pitch Count Regulation VI - Pitchers
League Age:
(PONY/COLT) 13 - 16 95 Pitches per day
(BRONCO) 11 - 12 85 Pitches per day
(MUSTANG) 10 & under 75 Pitches per day
The Manager will notify the Home Team Scorekeeper after each inning to report how many pitches were pitched by a pitcher for each inning pitched.
The Home Team Scorekeeper will record on the GAME SHEET the number of pitches pitched by a pitcher in the appropriate inning of the Pitcher Stats section.
When a pitcher is within 5 pitches of the pitch count the scorekeeper notifies the umpire! When a pitcher has reached the maximum he may complete pitching to the batter at bat!
