2008 - Two Legends Inducted into Hall of Fame
In 2008, Michigan Lawmen's own, Johnny "Super" Anderson and Scott "Manhands" Affholter were inducted into the Police Softball Hall of Fame.

During a ceremony at the Big League Fields of Dreams, in Palm Springs, California, both Johnny and Scott received plaques and comemorative coins to recognize their outstanding softball careers.

Johnny started his playing career with the storied Detroit Police TPS Softball team in the early 90's. During his time playing for Detroit, Johnny was instrumental in numerous championships including several Detroit World Championships and a Dayton National Championship.

Over his career Johnny, better known as "Super", was one of the best outfielders to ever play the game. Blessed with a combination of speed and power, "Super" dominated the game during the 90's and is still a threat to this day even at the age of 45.

Michigan's other inductee was Scott Affholter, who has played police softball for over 2 decades. During his early years, Scott was feared hitter in the middle of the Wayne/Oakland Police Softball team that seized several Championships of their own.

Scott is most known for his fierce competitiveness and his towering homeruns. During his career Scott has been a true ambassador for the game of softball and has been instrumental in introducing numerous "rookies" to the Police Softball Circuit.

Both Johnny and Scott are still playing at a high level and play major roles for the current Michigan Lawmen team.

Congratulations to both Johnny and Scott for their outstanding careers and their much deserved induction to the Hall of Fame.

MICHIGAN LAWMEN SIGN FREE AGENTS
November 11, 2008  --   The Michigan Lawmen are proud to announce the signings of two local free agents. On Monday, Lawmen management reached agreements with All-Star pitcher Mike Panackia and infielder Jade Tanguay. Both players are members of the Detroit Police Department and have played for the Motor City Blues for the past two seasons.

Mike Panackia is a rising star in the police softball circuit. Voted as an East Coast All-Star in 2008, Panackia is regarded as an "A" list pitcher on the circuit. Panackia is also a top notch hitter, with surprising power for someone the size of a Munchkin from the Wizard of Oz. Otherwise known as "Pancake", Mike is a fiery competitor with a natural love for the game. The Lawmen hope that "Pancake" will add to a 1-2 pitching punch along with Jeff "Biscuit" Graus.

In 2007, "Pancake" joined the Michigan Lawmen for the PS.com World Series and helped lead the Lawmen to a Fourth Place finish. After the World Series though, Panackia returned to the Motor City Blues to honor a commitment that he had previously made.

Jade Tanguay is also a welcome addition to the powerful Lawmen lineup. Jade is an exceptional two way player who has a powerful bat and good glove. In 2007, Jade was voted the Defensive Player of the Year for the Motor City Blues.
