Senior Bryan Geary will get one more chance to wear the 'Jackets uniform. Geary has been selected to the Senior all star game featuring the best players from the northern half of Vermont. The game will be played Saturday, June 28 at Middlebury High School. Times will be posted when available.

Geary named 'Jackets coach
With the retirement of long time Milton varsity baseball coach Dave Gilbert, the school has chosen longtime junior varsity and varsity assistant coach John Geary to take over. Geary has been involved with the program since 1985 when he assisted Gilbert's predecessor Bob McKenney. When Gilbert replaced McKenney for the 1987 season Geary became the junior varsity coach, a position he held until becoming the full time varsity assistant in 2005. Now entering his 24th season Geary looks to continue the success that Gilbert brought to Milton baseball. With a young and talented team the 'jackets should be very competitive again this season.

During Gilbert's tenure the 'jackets won three state championships and appeared in the final game four more times, the last time being in 2004 when they lost to Burr and Burton. Milton also won the highly competitive Metro regular season title six times including three straight from 1999 through 2001. Coach Gilbert left a tremendous legacy and deserves a lot of credit for his work not only with the baseball program, but his very successful stints as the varsity girls soccer and basketball coach as well as a good run with the varsity hockey program. We all wish Coach Gilbert the best as he moves on.
