    Week 7
    Predators’ NFL Fantasy League
Few upsets shook up the NFL this week, but that didn’t mean there were no upsets in the NW Predators’ NFL Fantasy League. As Week 7 ended the table once again had to be adjusted. Here’s a look at the action:

The Uncanny X-Cowboys 159 def The Yummy Bald Fish 62
Another week and another spot, the Uncanny X-Cowboys keep climbing. After putting up a massive 158 last week, they bettered it by one point this week. That was far more than enough to dismiss the struggling Fish, who had a good game by QB Peyton Manning (18) but only got a combined 12 from starting RBs Ahman Green and LaMont Jordan. The X-Boys covered the Fish’s 62 with QB Tom Brady and Flex RB Kenny Watson putting up 71.

Team Tugboat 105 def The Bears 68
Team Tugboat bounced back after last week’s upset. They had fine form taking on the bottom-of-the-table Bears. RB Willis McGahee led a solid effort with a team-high 17, followed by QB Drew Brees (15) and the Washington Defence (17). The Bears got an inspired effort from the Seattle Defence (24) but it was undone by QB Trent Green (Injured), WR Drew Carter (0) and RB Sammy Morris (0). The Bears will have to be better prepared next week, as they face the surging X-Cowboys.

The Psycho DBs 72 def The Donkey Lovers 62
The Donkey Lovers continue to fall, giving up a surprise loss to the DBs. RB Marshawn Lynch (15) and QB Tony Romo (13) tried to lift the Lovers but their receiving corps refused to join in. WR Bernard Berrian (6), TE Greg Olsen (4) and WR Patrick Crayton (-1) couldn’t match the DBs go-to guy WR Reggie Wayne (13). Add that to the huge game from the Denver Defence (15) and the win was sealed. The Lovers will look forward to next week to break their slump, when they come up against the up-and-down Envelope Pushers.

The Envelope Pushers 70 def The Mighty Redskins 30
Upset Number Two this week saw the once high-and-Mighty Redskins, tumble to their worst day all season. The Pushers were heavy underdogs after last week’s embarrassing performance. Yet QB Eli Manning (16) and WR Randy Moss (18) did enough to secure a win. Only one Skinz player made it to double-figures – Flex RB Ronnie Brown (10) – and he had to leave the game with a season-ending knee injury. The big disappointments were the Detroit Lions’ combo of QB Jon Kitna and WR Roy Williams who put up 7 in a winning effort!

Ookie’s Dog Fightaz 112 def The Ultimate Niggas 79
The Fightaz now have a real streak going, after their third win in as many attempts. They pounced all over the Ultimates who had one of their better days. QB Matt Hasselbeck (14) and RB Clinton Portis (17) showed up to play this week for the Ultimates, but it wasn’t enough. Meanwhile the Fightaz boomed with a solid effort all round. The ground assault alone had 48 points – Brandon Jacobs 17, Kevin Jones 16 and Marion Barber III 15. It was exactly what the Fightaz needed to get back into the race.

The Loose Cannons 55 def Coney’s Crushers 42
The Loose Cannons had a horrible week but, as usual, it was enough to win. They extended their winning streak to six games with a 13-point edging over the Crushers. LenDale White gave the Crushers 18 points yet he got no back-up, with WR Brandon Jones (0), TE Owen Daniels (2) and RB Shaun Alexander (5) producing little. The Cannons beat the one-man-show with three players notching up double figures: WR Wes Walker (25) WR TJ Houshmandzadeh (10) and RB Brian Westbrook (11). However, they’ll need to do better to keep their streak alive against next week’s opponent: the Mighty Redskins.

Here’s how the Predators’ NFL Fantasy League Table now looks:

    Rank Team Manager W-L-D
1 The Loose Cannons Francisco Diaz (OLB) 6-1-0
2 Team Tugboat David Noney (OG) 5-1-1
3 The Uncanny X-Cowboys Nadim Sharbean (MLB) 5-2-0
4 The Mighty Redskins Scott Meltzer (WR) 4-3-0
5 Ookie’s Dog Fightaz James McEnaney (QB) 4-3-0
6 The Yummy Bald Fish Head Coach Mark Levin 4-3-0
7 The Donkey Lovers Pete Mrozek (TE) 4-3-0
8 The Psycho DBs Dave Hughes (CB) 3-4-0
9 The Envelope Pushers Phil Calloway (OT) 2-4-1
10 The Ultimate Niggas Conrad Fils-Aime (WR) 2-5-0
    11 Coney’s Crushers Brett Cone (OT) 1-6-0
12 The Bears Matt Curtis (DE) 1-6-0

    Predators’ NFL Tipping Comp
Very little changed in the NW Predators’ NFL Tipping Competition. There were hardly and surprises in the NFL and everyone seemed to be thinking the same thing.

    Here’s how the table looks:

Rank Tipper Weekly Result Season (%) Prev
    1 Nadim Sharbean (MLB) 10/14 0.689 1
    2 James McEnaney (QB) 9/13 0.621 3

    Week 6
    It’s All Fun ‘n’ Games

This section highlights some of the non-Football activities going on within the Predators’ organisation.

    Predators’ NFL Fantasy League
Week 6 in the NW Predators’ NFL Fantasy League and the table has undergone another shuffle. Hot streaks continued, underdogs rose and the last undefeated team fell:

The Uncanny X-Cowboys 158 def The Donkey Lovers 58
The X-Cowboys streak to the top rolled on this week with a 100-point drubbing of the Donkey Lovers. The Lovers struggled with only three players hitting double figures and their starting RBs, Rudi Johnson and Warrick Dunn, combining for all of 2 points. On the other side, the X-Cowboys got 20-plus games from four players: QB Tom Brady 33; WR Braylon Edwards 24; TE Tony Gonzalez 22; and RB Adrian Peterson 40.

The Yummy Bald Fish 73 def Team Tugboat 60
Team Tugboat’s dream start has come to an end. After looking strong in previous weeks, they could not overcome a fighting Bald Fish side. The Fish were lead by WR Steve Smith’s 20 and K Matt Stover’s 18, which negated QB Steve McNair’s goose-egg. Tugboat suffered with starting QB Phillip Rivers managing a mere 5 and RB Jamal Lewis being scratched prior to game day.

The Mighty Redskins 142 def The Psycho DBs 51
In another one-sided victory, the Redskins put together a solid all-round performance to give the DBs another spanking. The DBs got off to a great start, with RB Maurice Jones-Drew putting up 29. But he received no help as RB Michael Turner, WR Deion Branch, K Joe Nedney and the Denver D failed to get on the board. Further, starting QB Kurt Warner was knocked out of the game for -2. The Skinz saw their #1 pick pay off as envisioned, with LaDanian Tomlinson going for a huge 44 point performance.

The Loose Cannons 117 def The Envelope Pushers 52
The Cannons are firing in all directions. Since being labelled no-hopers after their week one loss, they have been unstoppable, stealing the top spot on the table. This week they easily dispatched of the Envelope Pushers, who’s starting backfield (DeShaun Foster and Chris Brown) combined for only 6. Cannons’ WR TJ Houshmandzadeh had another big game with 26 points, which was almost matched by fellow WR Wes Walker (24).

Ookie’s Dog Fightaz 71 def The Bears 42
The Fightaz weren’t to be beaten by the cellar dwellers. K Stephen Gostkowski (13) provided the only double-figure score for the Bears, with last week’s star RB Sammy Morris being held to 1 point. The Fightaz may have only got decent scores from QB Carson Palmer (16), WR Joey Galloway (15) and the Kansas City Defence (11), but that was enough to ensure TE Benjamin Watson’s poor week (2) didn’t carry them down.

The Ultimate Niggas 101 def Coney’s Crushers 76
In another Bottom-Rung-Battle, the 1-4 Ultimates took on the 1-4 Crushers. Both managers made whole-sale changes over the week to be ready for this match up, but it was the Ultimates that came out gold. Ultimates’ QB Matt Hasselbeck finally turned up with a solid 22 point game. He got some help from WR Donte’ Stallworth (19), RB Thomas Jones (14) and WR Amani Toomer (14). Meanwhile, the Crushers’ new starting WR Kevin Curtis’ 18 point week couldn’t negate the let down from QB Brett Favre (5), WR Torry Holt (3) and RB Shaun Alexander (3).

Thus, the Predators’ NFL Fantasy League Table now resembles this:

    Rank Team Manager W-L-D
1 The Loose Cannons Francisco Diaz (OLB) 5-1-0
2 Team Tugboat David Noney (OG) 4-1-1
3 The Mighty Redskins Scott Meltzer (WR) 4-2-0
4 The Uncanny X-Cowboys Nadim Sharbean (MLB) 4-2-0
5 The Yummy Bald Fish Head Coach Mark Levin 4-2-0
6 The Donkey Lovers Pete Mrozek (TE) 4-2-0
7 Ookie’s Dog Fightaz James McEnaney (QB) 3-3-0
8 The Ultimate Niggas Conrad Fils-Aime (WR) 2-4-0
9 The Psycho DBs Dave Hughes (CB) 2-4-0
10 The Envelope Pushers Phil Calloway (OT) 1-4-1
    11 Coney’s Crushers Brett Cone (OT) 1-5-0
12 The Bears Matt Curtis (DE) 1-5-0

    Predators’ NFL Tipping Comp
Only the first spot remained unchanged after this week’s picks – and amazingly it was one of the teams with the lowest score! Here’s how the table looks:

Rank Tipper Weekly Result Season (%) Prev
    1 Nadim Sharbean (MLB) 7/13 0.685 1
    2 Pete Mrozek (TE) 10/13 0.630 3
    3 James McEnaney (QB) 10/13 0.618 4
    4 Phil Calloway (OT) 7/13 0.607 2
    5 David Noney (OG) 9/13 0.596 4
    6 Houssayn Bazzi (OG) 9/13 0.560 7
    7 Scott Meltzer (WR) 7/13 0.542 6

    Week 5
    It’s All Fun ‘n’ Games

This section highlights some of the non-Football activities going on within the Predators’ organisation.

    Predators’ NFL Fantasy League
Week 5 in the 2007 NW Predators’ NFL Fantasy League was highlighted by the clash of two undefeated teams and the battle for the wooden spoon. With the NFL seeing many big stars have off days, the games could have gone either way:

The Uncanny X-Cowboys 83 def The Mighty Redskins 75
From in the cellar to climbing the peaks, the X-Cowboys continue on their three game win streak. The Skinz had a great game from flex RB Ronnie Brown (20), but that couldn’t overcome poor showings from QB Jon Kitna (2), WR Roy Williams (3) and WR Marques Colston (3). The X-Cowboys meanwhile had great games from QB Tom Brady (22) and Larry Fitzgerald (19) to overcome another let down from star RB Larry Johnson (1).

Team Tugboat 79 def The Donkey Lovers 67
The Battle of Two Undefeated sides. Tugboat has ridden a wave of victories on the back of RB Joseph Addai, whilst the Lovers were thrown to the top by the arm of QB Tony Romo. Neither player brought it this week. Romo had a horrible Monday night, managing only 13, while Addai sat the bench with an injury. Instead, Kicker Nick Folk’s 16 put Team Tugboat all by themselves at the top of the standings.

The Psycho DBs 80 def The Envelope Pushers 45
In a game both teams needed, only the DBs came out to play. Eli Manning had another average performance for the Pushers (15) but the rest of his team were worse, only managing a combined 30. That included go-to WR Randy Moss. The DBs made a cool decision during the week, backing promoted QB Gus Ferrotte. His 21 along with WR Plaxico Burress (16) and TE Jason Whitten (16) got the DBs back in the winner’s circle.

Ookie’s Dog Fightaz 75 def The Yummy Bald Fish 73
What a close game this turned out to be. The Fish continue to slide after a three win start. The Fightaz TE Benjamin Watson set the pace with a massive 23 point game. Yet it didn’t seem like enough as the Fish’s QB Peyton Manning (17), TE Antonio Gates (17) and the Patriot’s Defence (18) forced their team into contention. It came down to the Fightaz needing a mere 5 points from Marion Barber III in the Monday Night Game. He managed 6 – catching for over 40, running for another 20 and sealing the victory.

    Coney’s Crushers 63 def The Bears 46
The Bears’ win streak wasn’t long. After climbing off the bottom of the table, the Crushers returned them to the cellar. It was an ugly game for both teams. The Crushers overcame still injured WR Andre Johnson through a big game from Torry Holt (16). The Bears, though, lost their punch when QB Trent Green suffered a severe concussion early in the Miami-Houston game. He finished with 2 points, while his receivers, Ron Curry and Drew Carter pitched goose-eggs too.

The Loose Cannons 69 def The Ultimate Niggas 49
The Loose Cannons’ ride rumbles on. The once laughed at team climbed to the third spot on the ladder with a convincing win over the much-maligned Ultimates. This, whilst the Cannons were one RB short! The Ultimates got a leg up from the Steelers’ D, who racked up 15. Yet WR Amani Toomer, WR Santonio Holmes and Flex RB Michael Pittman combined for 1 point. The Cannons overcome everything with a huge game from the San Diego Defence. The side finally showed their true form, busting out for 20 points!

The Predators’ NFL Fantasy League Table now looks like this:

    Rank Team Manager W-L-D
1 Team Tugboat David Noney (OG) 4-0-1
2 The Donkey Lovers Pete Mrozek (TE) 4-1-0
3 The Loose Cannons Francisco Diaz (OLB) 4-1-0
4 The Mighty Redskins Scott Meltzer (WR) 3-2-0
5 The Uncanny X-Cowboys Nadim Sharbean (MLB) 3-2-0
6 The Yummy Bald Fish Head Coach Mark Levin 3-2-0
7 Ookie’s Dog Fightaz James McEnaney (QB) 2-3-0
8 The Psycho DBs Dave Hughes (CB) 2-3-0
9 The Envelope Pushers Phil Calloway (OT) 1-3-1
10 The Ultimate Niggas Conrad Fils-Aime (WR) 1-3-0
    11 Coney’s Crushers Brett Cone (OT) 1-4-0
12 The Bears Matt Curtis (DE) 1-4-0

    Predators’ NFL Tipping Comp
The highlight of this week’s tipping comp was the Failure to Pick by two constant supporters – Scotty Meltzer and Houssayn Bazzi. The results speak form themselves:

Rank Tipper Weekly Result Season (%) Prev

    Week 4
    It’s All Fun ‘n’ Games

This section highlights some of the non-Football activities going on within the Predators’ organisation.

    Predators’ NFL Fantasy League
Week 4 and some of the upsets in the NFL were reflected in the 2007 NW Predators’ NFL Fantasy League. Another undefeated team tasted a loss, while a side, who many thought doomed to fail, scrounged together a victory:

The Uncanny X-Cowboys 102 def The Envelope Pushers 100
The X-Cowboys break .500 this week with a tight win against the Pushers. The clash came down to the Monday night game with Da X-Boys holding a 4 point lead. The Pushers’ Randy Moss had a solid performance racking up 22. Yet Tom Brady managed 20, leading the Uncanny X-Cowboys to their second win in as many games.

Team Tugboat 91 def The Mighty Redskins 74
Team Tugboat looked like the underdogs in this one. However, an unexpected 19 points from TE Dallas Clark boosted their numbers. Meanwhile the Skinz receiving corps managed a total of 7 points combined (Roy Williams 5; Brandon Stokely 2; Brandon Jackson 0; Chris Cooley BYE). That undermined #1 pick LaDanian Tomlinson’s first solid performance (21) of the 2007 season.

The Donkey Lovers 78 def Ookie’s Dog Fightaz 67
The Lovers hit the top of the table strangling a victory against the Fightaz. It looked in doubt heading into Monday night’s Bengals v Patriots game. Fightaz’s star QB Carson Palmer and TD-scoring-machine TE Benjamin Watson needed only muster 24 points for the victory. Unfortunately they were held to 12 combined, sending the Fightaz to a third loss.

The Yummy Bald Fish 96 def Coney’s Crushers 43
The Bald Fish rebounded after last week’s shock loss. They were helped a lot by the Crusher’s poor management. Andre Johsnon (still injured) and LenDale White (BYE) were left in the side. That was a lucky break for YBF, who struggled with WR Steve Smith (3) having another lousy week. In the end, reigning Super Bowl MVP Peyton Manning’s 25 got them over the line.

The Loose Cannons 78 def The Psycho DBs 53
The Loose Cannons continue to surprise many as they rolled to their third victory in as many matches. This game was embarrassing for both sides. The DBs’ QB Marc Bulger managed only 3 points while the Denver D added MINUS 4. The Cannons’ two starting RBs – Brian Westbrook and Laurence Maroney – were ruled out due to injuries, but thankfully, new starting QB Dante Culpepper won the match with a league-leading 31.

The Bears 72 def The Ultimate Niggas 62
The Bears chalked up their first victory of the season with an unlikely victory over the Ultimates. Suffering the loss of star RB Steven Jackson, the Ultimates were let down by Carnell Williams (4) and Thomas Jones (5). The Bears were lead by the Seattle D (19) and the surprise last minute start of Sammy Morris, who took the opportunity to deliver 18 exhilarating points as he ran all over the Bengals.

The Predators’ NFL Fantasy League Table now looks like this:

    Rank Team Manager W-L-D
1 The Donkey Lovers Pete Mrozek (TE) 4-0-0
2 Team Tugboat David Noney (OG) 3-0-1
3 The Mighty Redskins Scott Meltzer (WR) 3-1-0
4 The Yummy Bald Fish Head Coach Mark Levin 3-1-0
5 The Loose Cannons Francisco Diaz (OLB) 3-1-0
6 The Uncanny X-Cowboys Nadim Sharbean (MLB) 2-2-0
7 The Envelope Pushers Phil Calloway (OT) 1-2-1
8 The Ultimate Niggas Conrad Fils-Aime (WR) 1-3-0
9 Ookie’s Dog Fightaz James McEnaney (QB) 1-3-0
10 The Psycho DBs Dave Hughes (CB) 1-3-0
11 The Bears Matt Curtis (DE) 1-3-0
    12 Coney’s Crushers Brett Cone (OT) 0-4-0

    Predators’ NFL Tipping Comp
This week saw a bunch of upsets in the NFL, with the Bills, Cardinals, Falcons, Browns and Chiefs all managing unlikely victories. In the 2007 NFL Tipping Comp only one man should the insight (lack of sight?) to post a decent score:

Rank Tipper Weekly Result Season (%) Prev
    1 Nadim Sharbean (MLB) 9/14 0.710 1
    2 James McEnaney (QB) 11/14 0.613 6

    Week 3
    It’s All Fun ‘n’ Games

This section highlights some of the non-Football activities going on within the Predators’ organisation.

    Predators’ NFL Fantasy League
Week 3 of the 2007 NW Predators’ NFL Fantasy League saw a few of the undefeated giants fall and the first win for two struggling teams:

The Uncanny X-Cowboys 113 def The Psycho DBs 75
The X-Cowboys, a team highly touted in the preseason, finally got on the board. Yet they had to do it with the Dallas D (21) instead of their stud RB, Larry Johnson (4), and with their Flex (Larry Fitzgerald) on the sideline due to trade complications. The Psycho DBs, however, were in more trouble, with their starting QB (Marc Bulger) and two RBs (Frank Gore and Maurice Jones-Drew) combining for a mere 7.

Team Tugboat 79 drew with The Envelope Pushers 79
What a game this one was! With only the Monday Night game to go, the Pushers had a 3 point lead thanks to star WR Randy Moss (23). Tugboat would have figured Saints’ QB Drew Brees – the only player yet to play – would get him over the line. Yet Brees managed a mere 3 throwing for 225 yards, 0 TDs, 4 INTs and losing a Fumble. Needless to say, the Tugboat’s were exceptionally disappointed.

The Mighty Redskins 132 def Ookie’s Dog Fightaz 79
These Redskins continue to roll, even if their Washington counterparts falter. This was thanks in large to a huge performance from Miami RB Ronnie Brown (40). Meanwhile, their opponent the Fightaz, were unable to repeat last week’s big performance with only one star player, Marion Barber III (23). In fact it took the Fightaz two WRs (Lee Evans and Joey Galloway), second RB (Travis Henry), TE (Benjamin Watson) and Flex (Mark Clayton) to combine for another 23.

The Donkey Lovers 92 def Coney’s Crushers 79
Brett Favre’s huge recording-breaking week gave the Crushers 26 for their QB spot. But it wasn’t enough to overcome the injury to star WR Andre Johnson (0). Meanwhile, on the back of Tony Romo’s 20, the Lovers scraped together another win to remain undefeated.

The Ultimate Niggas 90 def The Yummy Bald Fish 79
The Ultimates claimed during the week that they were “a slave to Stephen Jackson”. And how right they were! Action Jackson scoring a mere 12 was enough to cap an unbelievable win over the league leading Fish. They fell to their first defeat thanks to a lacklustre week from star WR Steve Smith and lead RB Ahman Green, both who only registered a point.

The Loose Cannons 102 def The Bears 52
The Loose Cannons leapt up the table with a massive win over the floundering Bears. This week, the cellar dwellers had two players get into double-figures, Ronald Curry (12) and Sammy Morris (10). However their whole team was almost single-handedly outscored by the Cannons starting RB Brian Westbrook (40).

The Predators’ NFL Fantasy League Table now looks like this:

    Rank Team Manager W-L-D
1 The Mighty Redskins Scott Meltzer (WR) 3-0-0
2 The Donkey Lovers Pete Mrozek (TE) 3-0-0
3 Team Tugboat David Noney (OG) 2-0-1
4 The Yummy Bald Fish Head Coach Mark Levin 2-1-0
5 The Loose Cannons Francisco Diaz (OLB) 2-1-0
6 The Envelope Pushers Phil Calloway (OT) 1-1-1
7 The Ultimate Niggas Conrad Fils-Aime (WR) 1-2-0
8 Ookie’s Dog Fightaz James McEnaney (QB) 1-2-0
9 The Psycho DBs Dave Hughes (CB) 1-2-0
10 The Uncanny X-Cowboys Nadim Sharbean (MLB) 1-2-0
    11 Coney’s Crushers Brett Cone (OT) 0-3-0
12 The Bears Matt Curtis (DE) 0-3-0

    Predators’ NFL Tipping Comp
Week 3 in the 2007 NFL Tipping Comp saw a few gutsy calls made. The ones that paid off saw their tipster take huge leaps up the ladder. The ones that didn’t… Well, here are this week’s results:

Rank Tipper Weekly Result Season (%) Prev
    1 Nadim Sharbean (MLB) 10/16 0.729 1
    2 Pete Mrozek (TE) 11/16 0.625 5
    3 David Noney (OG) 8/16 0.604 2

    Week 1 & 2
    It’s All Fun ‘n’ Games

This section highlights some of the non-Football activities going on within the Predators’ organisation.

    Predators’ NFL Fantasy League
As Week 2 of the 2007 NFL season got underway, so did the second week of the NW Predators’ Fantasy League. Here are this week’s results:

The Loose Cannons 99 def The Uncanny X-Cowboys 87
This was a tight fought match that came down to Monday night’s Redskins-Eagles game. The X-Cowboys were once again let down by the Kansas duo of Larry Johnson and Tony Gonzalez who only combined for 12 points against the Bears’ stingy D.

Team Tugboat 96 def The Psycho DBs 86
Another close one that saw four high name RBs face off. In the end Tugboat’s combo of Joseph Addai (14) and Willis McGahee (15) powered over Frank Gore’s great game (20) and another poor showing by Maurice Jones-Drew (4).

Ookie’s Dog Fightaz 120 def The Envelope Pushers 105
In spite of a massive performance by the Pushers’ RB, Jamal Lewis (27), the Dog Fightaz pulled away thanks to a huge 84 points from the trio of Carson Palmer (39), Joey Galloway (25) and Marion Barber III (20).

The Mighty Redskins 93 def Coney’s Crushers 82
Many thought the Redskins would roll over opponents when they picked up reigning NFL MVP LaDainian Tomlinson in the draft. Yet it wasn’t LDT’s 5 points that got the win. Rather, Arizona RB Edgerrin James stole the show with a 20 point outing. Meanwhile the Crushers struggled with only 10 from starting QB Donovan McNabb.

The Donkey Lovers 115 def The Ultimate Niggas 108
Chad Johnson (32) lead a strong side for the Ultimates. However double digit performances from five different players – Tony Romo, Willie Parker, Donald Driver, Todd Heap and the Jacksonville D – helped the Donkey Lovers improve to a 2-0 record.

The Yummy Bald Fish 96 def The Bears 48
The Bears were again woeful this week, reflecting Chicago’s own poor play. Their top scorer was RB Cedric Benson, the only player to scrape double digits with a 10. Meanwhile, league leaders, the Bald Fish, rolled on with a massive 33 point game from Steve Smith.

The Predators’ NFL Fantasy League Table now looks like this:
