SPRING 2009 SOFTBALL REGISTRATION
To be eligible to play, player must legally reside in Pitt County, and be between the ages of 4 and 18 on December 31, 2008. The player's age on that date will determine the age group of play. Each player and parent is asked to pay close attention to this requirement when determining the appropriate age group.
To register by mail, please complete the registration form (please click on the link above or download from the handouts section of the website), enclose the registration fee and mail to the indicated address prior to March 1. Registration fee is $60. Players not participating in the PCGSL spring program in 2008 must also provide a photocopy of their birth certificate or other proof of age. Late "walk-in" registrations will be received downstairs in The Zone at the Sara A. Law Memorial Softball Complex on Reedy Branch Road at a time TBA in late February or early March.
Mandatory participation rules include that each player will be in the batting line-up and will play a defensive position at least every other inning.
The T-Ball (4-6) league is a non-competitive program with emphasis on motor skills and beginner level rules of the game. The Rookie (7-8) league is a "pitching machine" program, with emphasis on learning the skills of softball. The 9-10s play "modified" fast-pitch. All other age groups play fastpitch softball.
The 13-14, 15-16, and 17-18 age groups will start league play later in the season to accommodate participation in school sports. Registration for these age groups will remain open later into the spring.
SOFTBALL EVALUATION PRACTICE
• Those players in the 4-6 age group will not have an evaluation practice. New teams will be chosen by "hat draw" each year
• All players in the 7-8, 9-10, 11-12 and 13-14 age groups will attend evaluation practice. New teams will be drafted each year.
• Those players in the 15-16 and 17-18 age groups will not have an evaluation practice. New teams will be drafted each year.
• Certain players are not required to attend evaluation practice.
If you are one of these players, you will be notified.
Evaluation practices for 7-8, 9-10, and 11-12 will be held at the following times and locations. Players attending evaluation practices should arrive 30 minutes prior to the scheduled practice time and check in at the concession stand.

REGISTRATION FEES REFUND POLICY
There will be no refund of any portion of the registration fee once a player has been drafted onto a team.
