There was no unfinished business at this time.

7.) New business
We are looking for more people to get involved with helping out and volunteering.

We now have two board positions open, due to two people resigning. We need to fill these positions at the next meeting. The positions are Secretary and Parent Representative. Anyone interested must meet the requirement and should plan on attending the next meeting.

Brain Stilwell had asked about making flyers to pass out at schools. Everyone thought it was a great idea. Brain Stilwell has volunteered to make and pass out the flyers.

A fundraising committee has been set up.
Chair for this committee will be the treasure, Denise Robinson
Committee members are: Brain Stilwell, Kathy Stilwell, Frank Sara and Bonne Sara.

Our Parma Wildcats Spring Shootout Tournament dates have been set. This year’s tournament will be on May 30th and 31st. The registration fee this year will be $375.00. We will need volunteers to help this year. We will discuss at the next meeting to possibly making it mandatory that everyone must volunteer blank amount of time at the tournament.

Kathy Stilwell has volunteered to be the head chair person of Tournament shirts (Parma Wildcats Spring Shootout Tournament, special shirts) and spirtwear.

It was discussed that Todd Harbaugh is trying to get all the local high school coaches involved with our organization, and to possibly coach some of the teams.

Todd Harbaugh also discussed how Parma is way behind other communities in competitive fast pitch softball. An example was given: Parma had 11 teams in the Emerald Necklace League, including the 2 high school teams Holy Name and Padua. Parma teams finished the season with 3 teams in second place out of 11 teams. One was the Parma Sluggers and the other 2 were our very own 10u team and 16u team (which played 18u JV-A). Compare that to North Royalton which had 10 teams in the Emerald Necklace League. Of their 10 teams, 5 of them finished in first place and 1 team in second place. Bottom line is 6 out of 10 teams for North Royalton, 3 out of 11 teams for Parma.

The biggest reason for this is all girls in North Royalton go thru one organization. The best players are put on the "A" division teams, the second best on "B" teams etc. While here in Parma, Cuyahoga's largest community everyone tries to be a separate and an individual team. A mix of great players, good players and brand new players all on one team. Which does not work, the team does bad and most girls don’t want to play again. Did this help the teams to be an individual team, did it help the girls to become better players....NO...NO...NO...

We need to be one organization in Parma instead of many to succeed in developing players. To have girls play at their own level of play. To get the most playing time for those girls instead of sitting the bench and watching others play.

I have been talking about this with our community representative and he agrees. New Players and new teams will be given the Parma Wildcats Fastpitch Softball Organization contact information, so they can play in the Emerald Necklace League as a Wildcat instead of a new individual team.

Dan Sage made a motion to adjourn.
Seconded by Jeff Goetz.
All in favor %100
Abjection to motion %0.

Meeting adjourned at 2040hrs.
