Team FAQ
The LSC Rebellion is a well organized team that plays enthusiastically and trains with purpose. As a team made up of boys and their families, we will have many expectations of each other and this document is a statement of what your family can expect.
1. Who are the Rebellion?
The LSC Rebellion is a Select Team sponsored by Loudoun Soccer Club (LSC). Loudoun Soccer Club is the select/travel arm of Loudoun Youth Soccer Association. We are one of about 20 teams sponsored by LSC to compete in one of two boys Select Soccer Associations. The Rebellion currently plays in the National Capital Soccer League (NCSL).
2. Is there travel to other games?
There will be some games requiring drives of up to an hour; however half of the games will be home games in Loudoun County. Many away teams will be in Fairfax County and Prince William County. Most Tournament play is local (an hour away) but some Tournaments may require overnight stays.
3. What is the time commitment?
The LSC Rebellion will require a significant time commitment. The team will practice 2-3 times per week and games are on Sunday afternoons. Make up games are generally played on Saturday afternoons. You can expect the Rebellion to play in some friendly games against neighboring clubs and several tournaments each season.
Practices will last 1 ½ to 2 hours. The team will enter into a lottery for practice times and locations. The Rebellion will be made up of kids from all over Loudoun County and some families will have to drive more then others. We will try to be strategic in the lottery by picking days, times, and locations that best suit the families on the team.
BOYS WILL BE EXPECTED TO ATTEND PRACTICES AND GAMES WITH ALMOST PERFECT ATTENDANCE.
Off-Season Practice (optional but highly encouraged):
In the winter the Rebellion practices indoors and participates in an indoor soccer league.
In the summer the team attends a week long soccer camp program at Bethany College in West Virginia. Additionally there are several pick-up game opportunities for the boys to play.
4. When are tryouts?
Loudoun Soccer tryouts are held every June. Check the web site for specific dates.
5. How much playing time will the boys get in games?
All boys participating in weekly practices will play at least half of each game.
6. What are your development goals?
We will be developing kids to:
+ improve their skills
+ improve their tryout abilities
+ improve their ability to contribute to their High Schools soccer teams.
