New Division / District Alignment
The Board of Trustees of the Peace River Conference approved both a new District play format as well as a re-alignment of Division 1 & 2 beginning with the 2008 Season
Each team will play the four teams in its home District and one team from its neighboring District (i.e: a Division 1 North team will play all four teams in Division 1 North and one team in Division 1 South- the out of District teams will rotate on a yearly basis). Each team will also play three teams from its neighboring District (i.e.: Each Division 1 North team will play three Division 2 North teams- these teams to rotate on a yearly basis). All Conference teams will play a total of eight games, five in Division and three out of Division.
Playoffs will be as follows. Team rankings will be based on the five Divisional games.Interdivisional games will only be used for tie breaking purposes. The top three teams from each District will play for the District championship and these champions will play against each other for the Divisional championship. In doing so, we will increase the number of teams in the playoffs from the current eight per level to a total of twelve per level. However, should we have to make up a week due to a hurricane, the number of teams in the playoffs will drop to two per District.
The Conference Divisional Championships will be played on Saturday, November 1st. The First Round of Regional Playoffs will begin on Saturday, November 8th. and the Southeast Region Championships will be on November 28th. & 29th.
