Our U6 league is for beginning soccer players with ages of 4 and 5 as of July 31, 2009. We have boys and girls teams. Games are played against teams from Sierra Oaks, Arden Park and St. Ignatius soccer clubs. The games are played at 5:00 PM on Friday evenings at Sierra Oaks School, Winterstein School, Cresta Park, St. Ignatius School and Mariemont School. We will be holding a 2009 U6 Field Work Day for the U6 fields at Sierra Oaks on Wednesday, September 9th, 6:00 pm at Sierra Oaks. Please contact Tom Dreyer at tomdreyer@sosoccer.org for more information.
At the U6 age level, the players aren't the only ones learning a new sport. While the Referees have been through a training class, they are usually just beginning their careers at this level. And no matter how much soccer experience first time parents have, they usually learn as much about youth soccer as their kids do.
The top priority in U6 soccer is to have fun. Everything else will take care of itself. Make sure to read the Rules for U6 games and contact your coach or the Club Manager if you have any questions.
The 2009 Under 6 season will begin Friday September 11, and end Friday October 30. All U6 games are played on Friday evenings.
