HOME team is the first team listed on all schedules.

Island Cup 2009

This years Island Cup will be held March 28/29, 2009 at communities throughout the Upper Island.
The format will continue as in past years with a round robin tournament for each age group.
This tournament is open to select and house teams. Teams wishing to participate are to notify indivdual club rep of your intent by Feb 15th. Club reps to forward information to UI Scheduler.
Age group winners from the Upper Island tournament will advance to the finals against the Lower Island. These games will be played on Salt Spring Island. Date TBA (Most likley May 2/3 weekend.)
* This late date is due to Coastal Cup games, and Easter holidays.
*** Please note the Island Cup is NOT open to U12 teams. ***
** Teams who enter into Cup Play must commit until the final day of cup play. Failure to comply with this rule will result in fines for the club.
Format:
o 2 Teams – single game playoff
o 3 Teams – one day round robin, total points
o 4 Teams – two day round robin, total points
o 5 Teams – two day round robin, total points
o 6 Teams – two pools of three, round robin, winner of Pool A plays 2nd place Pool B, Winner of Pool B plays second place Pool A, Two winners in the final
o 7 Teams – Two pools, one three team and one four team, round robin within pool, top place in each pool plays in final
o All games regulation length
o No overtime in round robin
o FIVE goal difference
o Three points for a win, one for a tie, no points for a loss
o If two teams are tied on points, the following is the tie breaker:
1. Winner of the match between the two teams
2. Goal difference
3. Penalty kicks
*** Please note the Island Cup is NOT open to U12 teams. ***
Host clubs will be responsible for scheduling. Hosts to be finalized after team submission Feb 15th. Club Schedulers to make sure teams get a minimum one hour break between games (2 hours is preferable)
