BASEBALL RULES-Code of Conduct
1) No one argues with umpires. Only coaches will discuss decisions made by the umpire.
2) No one uses profanity or gestures at any time.
3) No one throws his helmet or bat in anger or disgust because of his performance or his dislike of a decision that goes against him or his school.
4) Anyone failing to run out every ground ball completely through the base at 100% effort will be removed from the game immediately. Hustle, even if you hit a one hopper back to the pitcher.
5) Wear your uniform like a ball player and take care of your own personal gear. Uniforms are to be kept neat and clean. Everyone will dress the same as far as undershirts, etc. Any school gear issued to you that is lost will be charges to your school account.
6) If a pitcher is being removed from a game, he will act in a mature manner. The pitcher will hand the ball to the coach and may leave the mound immediately. Any glove throwing or bad temper could cost you your next pitching turn.
7) Everyone will hustle on and off the field.
8) Anyone late for practice without an approved excuse will run for every minute you are late.
9) Once we start the game we are all business, with only one intent, and that is to win.
10) Practice time means dressed and on the field.
11) If you have to be excused from practice, you will notify only the head coach.
12) There will be absolutely no disrespect shown to other teammates, coaches, fans, school officials, schools, townspeople, or our school while you are representing Utica High School. This means on and off the field.
13) Do not lose your composure and do not sulk. If you have a problem, see the coach at a time we can both give the matter our full attention.
14) The use of tobacco, in any form, alcohol, or illegal drugs are prohibited. Violation of this rule can result in suspension up to removal from the team.
15) For the athlete who is using or possesses alcohol or illeagl drugs at any time:
1st violation: Required to miss two playing games
2nd violation: Removal from the team.
16) For the athlete who is caught selling illegal drugs:
1st violation: Removal from the team.
