Candy is going into her 11th year as a cheerleading coach. She coached the Bantam Cheerleading Team of the Meadow Ridge Knights for several years. She took the teams into local competitions. In 2003 she started a team at Westview High School. In 2004 she took on 2 more coaching positions with the Knights. She coached the Senior 16 – 18 year olds, Junior 14 – 16 year olds and Atom 6 – 8 year olds. The following year 2005, Candy opened her own non-profit cheerleading club The HEAT All Star Cheerleading Club for kids who wanted to do strictly competitive cheerleading. The first year the Senior team competed in Hawaii as well as various local competitions. The Youth team also competed locally. In 2007 all teams competed in the USA All star Nationals in Disneyland and the BC Nationals here at home.
From 2006 - 2007 The HEAT All Star Cheerleading Club was a registered non-profit society.
On September 13th, 2007, the members of the club voted to dissolve the non-profit club. Candy has opened her own gym and and has moved the athletes, coaches, parents etc., into her program.
Candy has achieved the following credentials:
• Over 20 years experience in theatrical performance and design
• Standard First Aid, CPR for infants, youth, adults
• USASF Certification levels 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 stunts and tosses
. USASF Certification levels 1, 2, 3, 4 tumbling
• NCSSE Certification (cheerleading safety)
• NCCP Level 1 National coaching certification, Artistic Gymnastics
• 5 years of annual coaching seminars with PCA
• Certified judge for BCCA
• 8 years of annual coaching seminars with BCCA
Candy is also the club Webmaster, bookkeeper, head coach for the club, records keeper, event organizer, travel planner, marketing and media manager.
Tammy Russell
Tammy started out as a ‘cheer mom’ and quickly fell in love with the sport. She volunteered her time to all teams with fundraising, planning, learning basic cheerleading skills, and administrative tasks. Tammy continues to increase her knowledge in the technical and artistic areas of cheerleading and is in her fourth year. She has become a trustworthy spotter and we rely on her heavily. Her contributions are many!
Tammy will be taking on the new role of Club Administrator and office manager. She will also keep her role as assistant to all teams in the club.

Barbara Rosner
Barbara will be training our Tiny and Mini competitive teams. She brings with her more than 16 years of experience in working with children in this age group. She has tons of great ideas and concepts and makes their practices fun and exciting.

Ashley Barlow
Ashley competed for 6 years locally and internationally. She coached the Youth competitive team in 2006/2007 and designed their routine. She pushes herself and strives to improve her own skills. She is always looking for new challenges.

Stace Isaacs
Stace has been a cheerleader for 6 years and is addicted to the sport like the rest of us. He has competed locally and internationally. He has an easy going way and is loved by all his teammates. He is also an accomplished tumbler. He is consistant in his training and is working on co-ed pairs stunting.
