Disney Cup - July 2012

The U18 Boys and the U16 Girls are back from a fantastic trip to beautiful and fun Orlando, Florida. They entered the Disney Cup International Soccer Tournament at the huge ESPN center, and travelled down the middle of July 2012. The boys were entered into the very competitive U19 division with 10 teams and ended up on the B side of the pool after the round robin. They had to meet up with a very strong team from Peru in the semi finals for the trophy side and were defeated 2-0. Good showing for all the boys who were up to 3 years younger than the other teams! The girls were in the U16 division with 4 teams entered. They ended up in second place after the round robin and then had to meet the team from Puerto Rico they had beaten previously. Second time around the other team came out to win and the girls lost the semi 3-2. Also a great showing by the girls. A fun time was had by all!

Barcelona Premier Cup - April 2012

The CSSE U15 girls team came home with the Gold medal and the Tournament Fair Play award! The girls played hard and went through to the A side final where they met the team that had beaten them in round robin play. We scored with 1 minute left and won the tournament! Great time was had by all and congratulations girls!

Barcelona Premier Cup - April 2012

CSSE is back from Barcelona, Spain! The U14 boys did very well, winning all 3 games in their pool and making it to the A side quarter finals. In the 1/4 final game, they took on some bigger competition in the Real Laguna Team from Tenerife. The boys played well, but were out muscled with a final score of 0-2. The Real Laguna team went on to win the tournament A side, beating Brasil in the final game. Great tournament boys!

Iceland ReyCup Tournament July 2011 - What an experience!

We are back from the land of fire and ice! An awesome trip was had by all, and we played some good soccer! (football)
We entered all our teams in the A divisions in order to get the best soccer experience, and we were playing against the top teams in the country. The style of Icelandic teams is similar to the English game, physical, fast and lots of touches on the ball. We had no idea what to expect from our CSSE kids, but they all stepped up and played great. This competition was pretty elite, everyone lives and breathes the game here. We were very well looked after by the tournament and the facilities were all top-notch. We have quite a few battered and bruised kids that came back, but they should be very proud of themselves and the way they played and represented CSSE and Canada! The tournament was amazing and the 3 teams all did well! The U16 girls came out with the best record at 3-3, coming home with 4th place overall. The U14 girls also played well with 2-2-1 record and 7th place overall. The U16 boy team had a hard run and played great, losing by one goal in most games, their record was 1-4. We saw some excellent scenery, breathtaking mountains and waterfalls and met some great people. All in all and excellent international trip! Can't wait for the next adventure!

Copa Monterrey - March 2010

Well we are back home! The boys did an excellent job in Monterrey and came home with 2nd place in the second division. (4th place)

We ended the round robin in 3rd place with a record of 4 wins and 1 loss. We then had to play a team from Mexico City for 3rd place. This team was out for revenge as we had beaten them 2-1 in the round robin, and they came out hard. We lost this game 4-2.

There were 8 teams in our category and we did not get to play the 2 teams that ended up in 1st and 2nd place (too bad - maybe we would have beaten them!)

A very successful trip by all accounts - we are very proud of the boys.
We were invited back next year by the tournament organizers, they were impressed by our players and how respectful they were. A very well run 11v11 tournament.

Way to go CSSE!!

Spain - June 2008

The U15 girls Academy Showcase team of 13 players headed off to Puebla de Cazallas, Spain for the Peloteros Cup International Tournament. The girls were the first ever team from Canada to be invited and did not disappoint the hosts.

A fantastic time was had by all and the U15 girls came home with Spanish Gold around their necks.

The girls also experienced Euro Cup fever in the best possible place to be, Spain when they won the Gold!
