Major League Baseball Division

The HTLL Major League program is a competitive baseball league dedicated to enhancing individual baseball knowledge and skills combined with team tactics and strategy, providing higher level baseball competition, and promoting the Little League principles and sportsmanship for the youth of Haverford Township.

The Major League consists of 6-8 teams of 12-13 players ages 11-12.  10 year olds will be invited to try out for majors on Player Evaluation Day in March.  Only 1 10 year old may be drafted by each major league team, however, this is not a requirement.

All new players to the league must attend Player Evaluation Day in March so equitable team drafts can take place.

Any 11 and 12 year olds that played in HTLL's Minor League last year must attend Player Evaluation Day in March.

Any 10 year old who wants to be considered for the Major League must acknowledge this to the Player Agent before evaluations.

There are 17-20 regular season games and two practices a week. Playoffs are single elimination. The season runs from early mid April to late June.

Current Major League teams and managers are:

Athletics - Sean Egan
Cardinals - Joe DiLauro
Indians - Vince Senatore
Orioles - Peter Oraschewski
Pirates - Vince Girondi
Marlins - Tom Dixon

Minor League Baseball Division

The Minor League program is an instructional/competitive league dedicated to enhancing individual baseball skills and knowledge, providing friendly team competition, and promoting sportsmanship.

The Minor League usually consists of 6-8 teams of 12-14 players ages 9-10.  If there are available roster spots not filled by 9 and 10 year olds, 8 year olds will be invited to Player Evaluations in March to try out for these few openings.

All new players to the league must attend Player Evaluation Day in March so equitable team drafts can take place.

All 12 year olds must play in the Major League.

There are typically 17-20 regular season Minor League games and two practices a week. Playoffs are single elimination. The season runs from early mid April to late June and includes playoffs.

HTLL fields a post-season 9/10 year old Tournament Team for exceptionally talented players looking to extend their baseball season through July (team is selected on merit based on regular season performance).

Machine Pitch Baseball Division

The Machine Pitch division is an instructional division for players ages 6-8 years old.  Games are played at Chestnutwold Elementary School in the evenings Monday through Friday and various times on Saturdays.  Some games and some practices will be held at Elwell Field.  Most teams have practices throughout the season, beginning in March with games between April and June 1st.  Each player receives a hat, t-shirt, socks and pants.  The Machine Pitch Division also has playoffs in June, as well as a player recognition day and a Machine Pitch Showcase game.

T-Ball Division

The T-Ball division is an instructional division for players ages 5-6 years old.  Games are played at Normandy Park in the evenings Monday through Friday and various times on Saturdays.  T-Ball does not generally have practices as the instruction is done during the games.  Each player receives a hat and t-shirt.
