Having three kids, I know our calendar is triple booked at least 3-4 times a week so, wanted to send out some SAVE THE DATES and info for everyone.

Mon 3/24            Draft Night for Coaches ONLY.  Coaches should have gotten an email invitation.  Let me know if you didn’t.

3/25-3/28            You will be contacted (most likely via email) by your daughter’s coach.  They will give you information on when/where the first practice will be.

Tue 4/1                 Nationals, Ponytails, Stars – Practices Start

Wed 4/2               Americans, Minors – Practices Start

Sat 4/5                  Pigtails – Practices Start

4/11-22                 BCPS Spring Break – We DO HAVE practices.  Coaches will communicate any adjustments they need to make based on attendance directly with the parents.

Mon-Wed           Uniforms distributed during practices.  We order based on the size you indicated on the         4/16-18               reg form.  If you think there might be an issue – email angiemartin01@msn.com now so                we can order the correct size.   

 Sun 4/27              Annual Parkville Opening Day at Towson University – More details to come.

Mon 4/28            Games will start this week.  Same nights at practices.  Schedule will be distributed in early April.

I get a lot of questions about equipment for new players.  The only the girls need are cleats and a glove.  The league supplies everything else they’ll need to play (Helmets, bats, etc.)

I hope everyone had a great first week of practices!
Here is some news and reminders...and answers to some of the burning questions I've gotten this week.  Lots of stuff here, so PLEASE read and let me know if you any questions. 

Bathrooms:
Pine Grove Middle - Spot A Pots are unlocked.
Pine Grove Elem & Harford Hills - Bathrooms will be unlocked each night starting Monday and continuing thru the season.

Parking:
There should NO vehicles on ANY field at ANY time. 
For those using Double Rock, you must park in one of the lots and not along the road coming in/out of the park.  You will be ticketed there.

Weather:  If weather is ever in question, please call the weather line:  410-372-8169
This is the ONLY number/ that can update you on cancellations or changes is weather is questionable.  It is a recorded message.  This message will be updated by 3PM when weather is in question.

In addition to the weather line this year, you can sign up for text message alerts in case of inclement weather.  You must "opt in" to this program by visiting the following link:

Team Baskets & Auction Items for Bull roast:
I'd like to ask all teams to put together something from their team to be used as an auction item at our Bull roast. Do we have any Parents with home based business that would like to donate?
Are you a crafty team?  Can you put together a themed basket from your team (some ideas....movie night, game night, baking basket, new baby basket, gift card basket)

Notes and Updates:
Lots of good stuff here!  We are CRAZY busy getting everything ready for the upcoming season.  Our first practices will hit the fields in 12 days!

Website & Facebook:
Remember to check these often if you ever have any questions.  We try and do our best to keep everything on there up to date.

Practices will start for all age groups during the first week of April.  You should (if you haven't already) be hearing from your coach this week.

Coaches & Little Buddy Volunteers:
Coaches clinic will be on Thursday of this week at 6:30pm at Pine Grove Middle School.  Coaches and Assistants and any of our 13+ age group that's interested in helping out with the Pigtails and Ponytails this year should also attend.

PRIDE TRYOUT'S:
The Parkville Pride is an All Star RECREATION Team for those girls who want to keep playing softball thru the summer months with a higher level of team commitment.
Emphasis is placed on sportsmanship, skill work and fun! We practice 1-2 times weekly from Mid April –July.
We participate in a summer Recreation League that has games 2x weekly from Mid-June through July.
The Pride also participates in at least 2 Summer Tournaments in July.

Try Out’s will be held at Pine Grove Middle School on the following days:
FRI March 23rd & FRI March 30th
6PM-7:30PM
SAT March 24th, SAT March 31st
10AM-12noon

*Age group participation is based on your age as of 12/31/11.
*Additional registration fee and uniform fee is required.
We will have a 10U, 12U, 14U and 18U team for the 2012 Season.
The more sessions you attend, the easier it is for the coaches to see you in action. 
**The Parkville Pride softball program is a direct extension of the Parkville Recreation Council’s softball program. In order for your child to be a Pride player, she MUST also register and FULLY PARTICIPATE in the recreation council’s IN-HOUSE program. This requirement is mandatory!

Bull Roast Pick Up

April 11, 2012

We'll have someone at Pine Grove Middle School Tonight by the Top Field with Bullroast Tickets from 6:00-7:00 PM.  If you need to pick up/pay for your reserved tickets and or BUY tickets.

Tickets MUST be picked up and paid for by this Saturday.  The remaining tickets will be sold on Saturday from 10AM-12noon at Pine Grove Middle School.

The Bullroast is Saturday, April 21st from 8PM-Midnight at Parkville Heritage Gardens.  Tickets are $40.00 per person or $350.00 for a reserved table of 10.

Pitching Clinic - 10AM (Arrive by 9:40 to check in/sign waiver and warm up)

**If you have a time conflict due to basketball, dance, soccer, etc. You may attend any time session between 9am and noon. However, if possible it's encouraged to attend the time slot for your age group.
We will need parent/coach volunteers to help with evaluations. If you plan on coaching, please try and plan on staying to help out.

WALK IN REGISTRATIONS:
We will be accepting registration forms tomorrow. If you plan on registering, please visit the handout section of the website and bring your completed forms and check/cash with you or you can register on-line prior to evaluations. www.leaguelineup.com/parkvillefastpitch

We noticed you haven't registered yet for the Spring Softball Season and wanted to reach out to our last years players and encourage you to register on-line this weekend.

Registrations are available on-line with no late fees throughthis weekend only. On Monday, a late fee will be assesed to all registrations.

Lot's of Exciting News

Thanks to Parkville Boys Baseball and the Parkville Thunder Teams, we were able to do some shuffling on nights of play and fields. We were able to move our Minor League back to Mondays and Wednesdays and our Ponytails to Tuesday's and Saturdays. The updated "Nights of Play" can be found on the website. www.leaguelineup.com/parkvillefastpitch

The calendar on the website has been updated with all (most) of the important dates for the season. Online registration is up and running! If you've already registered online (Thanks!), you'll be getting a 2nd email shortly through our Stone Alley system while we work to integrate everything together.

It's hard to believe it's that time again!
Online registration for the 2012 Girls Softball Season will open on Monday, January 9th.  You can register online by using the following link: https://www.stonealley.com/program/Parkville/group/Softball
Our Season Kick Off General Meeting is also Monday, January 9th at 6:30PM at Parkville Rec. Center in Room 205.  All are welcome and this is a great opportunity to learn more about the program and volunteer to get involved.
Walk In Registration Dates will be held at Parkville Rec. Center on Sat. Feb 11th: 9AM-12 Noon & Wed. Feb 16th: 6PM-8:30PM.

*Registrations will be accepted on a space available basis. Remember, last year we had a waiting list in each age group. So, register early!
  I'm excited and we've already been busy planning for the upcoming season.  I hope to see you all soon and can't wait to get on the fields.
