We Call It Show Stoppin'

By: Lindsey Marshall
‘We Call It Show Stoppin’ was our motto for the season,
And if you saw us perform, you’d know the reason.
This season has been crazy, I guess you could say,
And each member of the team contributed in her own way.

First off, there’s our coaches, who put up with us kids,
I’m not sure how they did it, but I’m sure glad they did.
Coach Wills always had high hopes for our team,
And because of her dedication, we achieved our 3rd place dream.
Coach Blossom would never allow us to not try,
Her jokes made us laugh, her sprints made us cry.

The seniors this year made the season a success,
And helped mold this team into our very best.
Julienne is the one who never fails to make us smile,
Even if we were running laps for what seemed like miles.
Then there is Leia who’s as fierce as can be,
She works it in the dance ‘cause she’s so skinny.
Next is Chen who is as precise as they come,
Unless she hits it perfect, her job’s never done.
Then there is Sarah who is sweet and always tries,
And at every single Chapel she never fails to make us cry.
Then there’s Melissa who always gets everything done,
But of course not without having a little bit of fun.

Next year the Juniors will be stepping up to the plate,
And judging from this group, they’re going to do just great.
Elizabeth Petry is easily the sweetest girl we know,
Although we’ve all seen that flava’ in the dance that she shows.
Steph W amazes us with her tumbling so high,
And I’m pretty sure that in her jumps her feet touch the sky.
Kelsey is the dancer that always works it out,
And she never fails to motivate with an encouraging shout.
Alice is so tiny, and always nails her toss,
And regardless of her size, the girl is still a boss.
Ellen is always one who’s determined to excel,
And she works out her backhandspring, no matter if she fell.
Lauren Miller is so cute and surprises us everyday,
Whether it’s with her improved tumbling, or the crazy things she might say.
Last, but not least, is Mary, who is cheerful and sweet,
And when she’s taught something she never misses a beat.

We can’t forget the Sophomores who never let us down
And it doesn’t hurt that they’re all huge clowns.
Brie’s the team ditz that never knows what’s going on,
And with all that energy, you’ll never see her yawn.
Sayer’s the intense one who never settles for less
Than what she knows, as a tumbler and flier, is her absolute best.
Lo Pass is our ghetto one who is straight up hood,
And I know we can all agree her stunts have never looked so good.

Last, but not least, is the freshmen, the newest of us all,
There’s no way we could’ve done it without them this Fall.
Joanna is just silly, but knows what to do,
She backs stunts like a pro, and tumbles great too.
Shauna never fails to surprise us with that tumbling she has,
It seemed like every practice she would throw a new pass.

This season has been amazing, and I want all of you to know,
That each one of you has helped me to learn and grow.
This team has become my family, and although the season’s at an end,
I want to thank every one of you for being my friends.
And in the future when I think back to my favorite group of chicks,
I know I’ll always remember my team from Fall of ‘06.

Work It by Stephanie Wilcinski, Captain 2007-2008
“Work It!” is what we say,
And if you watched our routine there’d be no dismay.
This team is clearly from heaven,
I’m glad my last BG fall season is ’07!

To the Freshmen: Please take your time,
I know that you’ll all be just fine.
First there’s Michelle, our tiny flyer,
I don’t think her jumps could get any higher.
Tiff is always smiling,
She’s a fierce base and you know I’m not lying.
Kaleigh’s tumbling is absolutely amazing,
The bar she is always raising.
Amanda goes from base to flyer without question,
And she hits all her stunts with perfection.

To the Sophomores: You have three more years,
Use them well and Cheer, Cheer, Cheer!!
Ally clearly works her double thigh stand,
And joining the team we’re so glad she planned!
Jen always works her full to perfection,
She almost never has to make a correction.
Co works out her standing tuck,
And we know she didn’t get it by luck.
Jo is so silly, her back spotting skills are perfect without a doubt,
And I only have one thing to say, Work you out!

To the Juniors: Next year you’ll be on top,
And then it will be your shot.
Emily’s tumbling is so high,
It happens in the blink of an eye.
Taylor makes everyone so happy,
Your motions in the routine are so snappy.
Dom is our quiet one, who never quits,
Her stunts are so good but she’ll never admit.
Bri is our thinker, although no one recognizes,
Your basing technique no one can criticize.
Lauren is always so motivational,
And her tumbling is amazingly sensational.
Steph is so flexible and bendy,
From her squirrel shirt we can tell she is trendy.

To my Seniors: This is our last,
And I hope I’m not wrong when I say we had a blast.
Gabby’s side basing skills are so perfect,
All I ask today is that you work it.
Lauren’s cheerleading skills are outstanding,
You are always so understanding.
Alice’s jumps are as high as the sky,
I’m so glad I’ve known you since junior high!
Kelsey’s dancing is done with grace,
And she definitely keeps up the pace.
Elizabeth is such a good friend,
Your flexibility we can always depend!

Last but not least there is Blossom,
Who dreamed of making us awesome!
She conditioned us to death,
But now we can take a breath.
She got us into shape,
And now we’re top rate!

I’d be lying if I said I won’t miss you all next year,
You all help me to be strong through my fears.
I want you to know I love you all so much,
All I can say is please don’t be in a rush.
Cherish the time you have with this team,
You know how good we can be.
So without delay,
You better work today!
In my heart you will always lay
