The Edinburgh Diamond Devils are delighted to announce that they have secured the support of O2, the mobile phone network, for their junior programme - the Edinburgh Junior Baseball Association.
The generous support of O2 will go a long way towards boosting the efforts of the committed coaches and volunteers that run the programme and help the little league continue to grow.
The revenue provided will be used to secure new safety and protective field equipment for participants, improving the playing facilities and maximising enjoyment for all.
The Edinburgh Diamond Devils would like to thank O2 for their gracious support of this key component of their ballclub.

Little League Baseball introduces pitch count restrictions

Little League Baseball has introduced pitch counts to all levels of its operations in an effort to encourage safer development of pitchers and minimise the risk of overuse of talented arms.
The pitch count document makes for very interesting reading, especially in light of the recent World Baseball Classic where pitching limits were used for the first time at a major league-level event. There is also advice on how to care for your arm, training drills, pitching techniques, hints and tips etc. and should be read by anyone who picks up a ball.

Ex-Edinburgh Little Leaguer Tom Fenster has begun a career in college baseball whilst attending Pomona in California. He is also showcasing his two-way skills by participating on the football team as a kicker. Tom spent time within the organisation in 1998 and continued to play to a high level upon his return to the US as an integral part of his high school's 2007 state championship team in Maryland.
Pomona play in the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference and are the reigning baseball champions so Tom is joining an excellent programme.
The Edinburgh organisation extends the very best wishes and good luck to Tom – we’ll be following his progress with much interest!
