Fall 2012 GYBA 14u Rules
Nations Baseball (www.nations-baseball.com) and the ORMLB (www.mlb.com) govern all rules of play except as noted below. Local exceptions are:
1. Nations Baseball Guidelines and Regulations sections II – VIII do not apply to league play. Section IX.A may vary by league age, level and specific field of play. Sections IX.J & IX.K, section X and section XII- do not apply to league play. Section XI – Add: “The GYBA ‘No Tolerance Policy’ remains in effect at all times.” Section XIII.B – change “tournament director” to “the GYBA Board”
2. Section IX.C.1; C.2.a, b & d; C.3; C.11 do not apply. All
3. Game length is 1:45 min or seven (7) innings, whichever occurs first. Each half inning will be limited to eight (8) runs or three (3) outs, whichever occurs first. Regular season games may end in a tie. Run rules are in effect – 15/3, 10/4 and 8/5. (Local and NB Rule IX.C.12 & C.13)
4. All teams will bat the entire roster. An official team consists of nine (9) players. A player arriving late can be inserted at any time and at the bottom of the line up. A team with only eight (8) players may start/finish a game and will not take an out for the missing ninth (9th) player. A team cannot “pickup” players from another league or team for an official season game. A team with only seven (7) players will be declared a ‘suspended’ game and referred to the League Director for a decision. (Local and NB Rule IX.C.4)
5. Section IX.D.1 - Pitching Limitations: A pitcher is limited to eight (8) innings per week. One (1) pitch thrown in an inning will count as having pitched a complete inning for the purposes of this rule. A week is Sunday to Saturday. A pitcher is further limited to four innings a calendar day. Any pitcher who pitches the maximum four (4) innings in a calendar day must take two (2) full days of rest before allowed to pitch again. Examples – a player who pitches four (4) innings on Tuesday is eligible to pitch again on Friday (two full days rest on Wednesday & Thursday). A player pitching only three (3) innings on Tuesday can pitch the next day up to the maximum of four (4). The League Commissioner or League Director will determine the penalty assessed for violating the pitching rules.
6. A coach/batboy 18 years of age or younger must wear a double eared helmet.

7. Only two (2) coaches are allowed outside the dugout. Defensive coaches must remain on the “porch” and within arms reach of the dugout. No electronic devices, buckets or chairs are allowed on the field of play. (Local)
