Artistic Director - Jennifer Wong
CBTF, MBTSA, NCCP, ADAPT, DANCE MANTIOBA
Jazz, Tap, Lyrical, Acro, Baton Twirling, Tap, Combination Classes


Ms. Jennifer starting training in Dance, Baton Twirling, and Acro at the early age of 2 and was competing by the age of 5. She was a member of various performance groups and the Manitoba Team contingent for many years training with instructors and choreographers from around Canada and the US resulting in numerous awards. While she has always loved performing she new eventually her goal was to mold and enrich the young performer with a complete arts education. By the age of 10 Ms. Jennifer was assisting and by the age of 13 was honored by being awarded her first class. At 17 she started teaching independently and 8 years later opened Magic ‘N Motion Studio in 2005. Ms. Jennifer and her students have been awarded the Order of Sports Excellence Award many times. Her teaching and choreography have won many awards and National titles. Just recently, Ms. Jennifer & Ms. Kristin's senior A Team won the Canadian championships and won the honor of representing Canada at the World Championships in Ireland. Ms. Jennifer's passion for her students and teaching is well known. Her achievements at a young age are a example to the students that with discipline, training, and a lot dedication, all dreams and goals are attainable.


Ballet Mistress - Kaylah Ainslie
A.I.S.T.D. CECCHETTI

Originally from Sudbury Ontario, Kaylah moved to Winnipeg in order to attend Canada's Royal Winnipeg Ballet School Teacher Training Program. After graduating she has decided to stay on in Winnipeg to continue to work with her students at Magic 'N Motion Studio. Before coming to the RWB she attended Sudbury Secondary High School for the Performing Arts, were she majored in dance and graduated with the "Terpsicore Award". As well as dancing at Diane Boulais Dance Studio De Danse were she studied Cecchetti and did competitive dance as well as examinations.
Kaylah has been choreographing for various shows for 5 years and has attained her A.I.S.T.D. certification in Cecchetti. Kaylah teaches all levels of ballet including pointe. Ms. Kaylah believes that all girls are princesses and all princesses should dance!


Breanne Lillico
Ballet, Jazz, Tap

Ms. Breanne is originally from Delta, British Columbia. She relocated to Winnipeg in 2005 to attend The Royal Winnipeg Ballet Teacher Training Program. While training here she was offered a position to teach at the RWB in the Recreation Division of the School. Ms. Breanne has also taught for the RWB’s satellite program in Gimli. Since the age of 3, Ms. Breanne has studied and trained in many dance styles including Jazz, Tap, Ballet, Musical Theater, Stage, Lyrical, Modern and Hip Hop. She has been a competitive dancer for most of her life and has studied at “The Dance Connection” in Ladner, and the “Goh Ballet” in Vancouver, where she got involved with Ballet BC’s performances of Sleeping Beauty. Ms. Breanne was a member in The Royal City Youth Ballet which toured internationally, including Disneyland for performances of Hopak and dances from Carousel and Coppelia. She has also performed on the Princess Cruise line and was involved with other companies such as Sidekick Players, a pantomime theater group, and Gotta Sing Gotta Dance, a summer theater program in Vancouver. Ms. Breanne is very excited to work with all of the wonderful staff and students at Magic ‘N Motion!


Danielle Pikl
CBTF, MBTSA, ADAPT
Primary Ballet, Jazz, Tap, Acro, Baton Twirling, Combination


Ms. Danielle began her training in dance at the age of 3. Along side training in classical jazz and ballet Ms. Danielle was also a competitive baton twirler. She competed in the competitive baton world for 7 yrs and earned many awards during that time, in individual and group events. Ms. Danielle completed her final years of baton training as one of the original students of Ms. Jennifer’s. Ms. Danielle has also participated in the Manitoba Dance Festival and numerous dance competitions earning top recognition such as Gold Honors. She began her teaching career along side Ms. Jennifer 7 years ago and has experience with teaching pre-school & combination classes, jazz, baton & acro. Ms. Danielle has also completed her level 1 coaching certification course for baton in 2003 and most recently has completed the T.T.S. ADAPT becoming a fully certified ADAPT teacher. Ms. Danielle loves teaching and nurturing the development of the students she works with at Magic 'N Motion!


Farrah Fernando
PROFESSIONAL DANCER
Contemporary, Hip Hop


Farrah Fernando has been dancing for 15 years. She is classically trained in jazz, ballet and modern and has been a hip hop dancer for most of her life. She performed at the Pan Am Games in 1999 and was a semi-finalist in the Red River Exhibition, Stars of Tomorrow competition in 2002. In 2003, Farrah performed with the Canadian Team for the World Gymnaestrada held in Lisbon, Portugal. In 2005 she toured with the Israeli folk dance group, the Chai Folk Ensemble. The group performed in California at several cities including San Diego, Palm Springs and Los Angeles. Locally, Farrah has performed for numerous CD release parties for up and coming local artists such as Arinze (2005), Platinum Black (2006) and Scott Peter (2007). She has also appeared as an opening act for several hip hop artists including Chamillionaire, Joe Buddon, Sean Paul and most recently, T-Pain. She continues to perform with the Prairie Dancers Troupe as a dancer and choreographer. This year will mark her fifth season with the troupe. In 2006, Farrah obtained a Bachelors Degree in Biosystems Engineering, and in 2007 started to pursue her Masters. However, she has decided to follow her heart and is now studying Contemporary Dance at the School of Contemporary Dancers and will graduate from the program in 2010.


Kristin Macaraeg
CBTF, NCCP, MBTSA
Baton Twirling, Jazz, Tap, Pre-Primary Combination


Prior to her teaching career at Magic ‘N Motion, Ms Kristin received her baton, gymnastics and dance education in Winnipeg, Manitoba and Regina, Saskatchewan. Under the training of Maureen Johnson and Alan Kramer, she competed in the Freestyle, Pairs, and Team events at 7 World Baton Twirling Championships where she captured 1 Team Canada World Cup gold, 1 silver medal and 3 bronze medals.
Ms Kristin’s credentials include a Level 2 certification with the National Coaching Certification Program (NCCP) and a Level 2 Canadian Baton Twirling Federation (CBTF) Coaching Certification. She is a certified CBTF Judge, CBTF Skills Development Program Adjudicator and currently sits on the CBTF Board of Directors as the National Coaches Representative. She is the recipient of numerous awards and scholarships including the Manitoba Foundation for Sports Scholarship and the 2007 Coaching Manitoba Excellence Award for International Coaching. Ms Kristin has coached and choreographed all levels of baton across Canada, the United States and Europe. Her choreographed routines have won national and international titles. In the summer of 2008, Ms Kristin and Ms Jennifer coached their Senior A Team “Wisdom” to victory, winning a gold medal at the Canadian Team Trials. The team went on to compete at the 2008 World Championships in Limerick, Ireland and finished in 9th place.
Ms. Kristin loves teaching her students at Magic ‘N Motion and works towards fostering their development, guiding them to their highest potential and creating a passion for the arts.


Meagan Smith
CBTF, MBTSA
Acro, Baton Twirling, Combination


Ms. Meagan has been a student with Ms. Jennifer for over 10 years and was there when Magic ‘N Motion Studio was first created and opened. Ms. Meagan has trained in many disciplines including: gymnastics, acrobatics, ballet, tap, jazz, and her true passion… baton twirling. She has been a member of the Manitoba Team Contingent for 5 years and has competed at 8 Canadian Championships and 2 International Cup Championships, winning numerous medals. She is in the final level (diamond pin) of SDP Examination Badge Program. Ms. Meagan is also certified Level 1 in CBTF. Ms. Meagan continues to both teach as well as continue her training. She was a member of the 2008 Canadian Team and represented Canada at the World Championships; she is a wonderful addition to the MNM faculty.


Terri Carter
CBTF,MBTSA, SDP ADJUDICATOR
Baton Twirling, Compulsories, Short Program


Ms. Terri's love for baton twirling and dance started at the early age of 4 at Oxford Heights Community Club. At the age of 7, she started her training in dance and baton twirling with Wendy Zamonsky. It was then that she was introduced to the world of competitive baton twirling which fueled her passion even further. In 1993, Ms. Terri became the Junior Level B Provincial Freestyle Champion. The following she started training under the direction of Jill Perron and Krista Young, and choreographer Deardra Leslie from Kitchener, Ontario. That same year Ms. Terri competed in Junior Level A Freestyle and represented Manitoba at the Canadian Team Trials. From 1994 until 2001 Ms. Terri represented Manitoba at Nationals in the Freestyle Division. In 2002 she represented Manitoba in the Senior Pairs Catagory. At the age of 16 Ms. Terri achieved her NCCP certification and Level 1 coaching certification. Ms. Terri has been coaching recreational and competitive twirlers ever since and has now found a home at Magic 'N Motion. In 2008 she represented Canada as a member of the Canadian Baton Twirling Team at the World Championships in Ireland.
