The Referee meeting will be held on TUESDAY AUGUST 18th at 7:00 on the fields at Eastfield. Please come prepared to run around on the field a bit. If it rains - we will meet inside somewhere at Eastfield.

USSF Position Papers on Offside
In our game last night, whereas I was CRM and AR C Bart (which is what he said you call him) along with Gene were AR's, we had a couple of offside calls. I'm sending this to make sure we are all on same page. Not just refs but coaches as well as it was the attacking coach that questioned. Twice an attacker was clearly offside when the ball was played over the defense but Chris waited until the attacker was actively involved in play, in this case touching the ball. Mind you that meant the attacker had to run 25 yards or so, along with defender (which is what coach was questioning, why wait and waste their energy). There were other onside attackers though that could have gained possession and thus the reason for waiting. Once there was a similar circumstance but no other attacker was close enough in my opinion so I whistled a little quicker. After the game we all discussed these situations and it seems there are
interpretations, whether it's from reading, training classes, meetings, or
just being told by other refs.
