Max Greve Player of the Year Award
Due by July 23, 2012. The Nebraska Baseball Association established an annual award in memory of Max Greve, outstanding athlete and honorable citizen from Wakefield. Max lost his life in an accident on June 24, 2010. Two players (Class A and Class B) will be chosen annually by the Nebraska Baseball Association's board of directors to receive the Max Greve Player of the Year award. The award plaques will be presented at the state championship games on August 12, 2012 at 1:00pm prior to game time. The Class A state championship is in Omaha at Brown Park, John Stella Field. The Class B state tournament is at Dunlap Field in Cairo.

Nominations are due by July 23, 2012. Nominations need to be emailed to the NBA. Those submitting nominations need to send an essay pointing out why they deserve the award. In addition to the nominee's performance on the baseball field, also include their standing in, and contributions to the community.

The person must fit the following criteria:
*Must play on a team in the NBA
*Must have played in a majority of their team's games
*Team must have a .500 winning percentage or better
*Player must have favorable baseball statistics
*Player must have verifiable, documented statistics

Please note: The highest batting average, fielding percentage, or lowest ERA does not garauntee the award. Character and other values are taken into consideration by the Nebraska Baseball Association.
