About the Titans
THE TITANS ARE COACHED BY ROB OLSON
Rob Olson is an A-licensed coach with experience as a player at the collegiate (William and Mary) and National Team levels. He has taken a number of teams through the latter years (the highest level of club travel soccer) and has had many of his players go on to play at the collegiate level. He is a strong trainer and coach with an unwavering interest in the well-being of the kids and is hugely respected by his players and their parents as well as his peers. He is also the Girls' Varsity coach at Centreville High School.
In soccer we wish our children to develop skills outside of technical or tactical abilities on the field- we want them to be disciplined, responsible, encouraging to one another, respectful, and to learn teamwork, and Rob's character and ability to instill personal integrity in the children he coaches is outstanding. He is a member of the VYSA Hall of Fame, a Director of Soccer Academy for more than 15 years, and an ardent believer in the idea that within the right environment, kids will flourish as both players and as people.
Rob Olson is Director of Soccer Education, he has been on the Soccer Academy staff for 20 years. Rob has been the Director of Coaching at SYA Soccer since l997. Currently he is on the VYSA coaching education staff.
Rob has been inducted into the VYSA’s Hall of Fame as a player. Rob played soccer at William and Mary, where his team won three state championships and where he was named to the Senior Bowl, All-South and All-State teams. He graduated second all-time leading scorer. Rob was also a member of the 1983 US National team. He played professionally with the Georgia Generals (ASL), Kalamazoo Kangaroos (AISA Indoor League), Washington Stars (ASL) and Team America (NASL).
THE TITANS ARE TRAINED BY PAUL ELLIS…
Coach Ellis is the director of Soccer Education and Training at Soccer Academy. Before coming to the USA in 1985, Paul played soccer extensively in Great Britain before joining Soccer Academy. He was the Head Coach at Lake Braddock HS and was appointed Coach at George Mason University for many years. He is a USSF A License Coach and a NSCAA Premier Coach. Paul was appointed to US Region 1 staff and was the head coach to Region 1 teams playing internationally in China, Germany, France, Denmark and Britain. He was also appointed to the JCP Metro Area coaching staff and conducts both USSF and NSCAA coaching courses providing Adult Coach training. A dynamic presenter, his coaching services are in high demand. Paul is committed to ensuring that Soccer Academy offers the finest state of the art programs for players and teams. Paul is dedicated to the quality of training programs and staff provided by Soccer Academy. Paul is married to Jennifer and has two children Courtney and Brad. His Father John Ellis was Asst Coach to April Hendrichs Girls National Team. His Sister Jillian Ellis is UCLA girls head coach. She also coached National U21 women's team.
Coach Ellis's philosophy is to "provide female soccer players with the opportunity to develop technically, tactically and mentally" in an environment where their "love of the game" will grow. Always stressing Sportsmanship, Team spirit, Cooperation, and Fun.
