...that Wendell Taylor is the only Tiger to wear a headband since Coach Yoshimura has been in charge? Wendell received a head injury and the headband was used to protect the stitches.

Curtis made a lay up as time expired to help the Tigers defeat the North Torrance Saxons 101 to 70. Krystek also led all scorers with 19 points in the C.I.F. quarterfinal game on February 25, 2005.
...that at one time Valencia had a 48 game losing streak? The Tigers losing streak began in the 1972-73 season and finally ended in the 1974-75 season. It is 6th longest losing streak in Caifornia state history. The state record is 81 consecutive losses by Fort Jones High School from 1973 to 1975.
...that Bryan Simmons is the first Tiger to ever win a NCAA championship? Bryan helped lead UC Irvine to the NCAA Men's Volleyball championship in 2009. Bryan played in the post for Valencia 2003-05.
...that Coach Dean Yoshimura played on a C.I.F. championship football team in 1976? The El Camino Wildcats in Oceanside, CA defeated the Kearny High School Komets 39 to 28 for the championship in San Diego's Jack Murphy Stadium. Coach Yoshimura, a junior in 1976, played on special teams.
