Havenwood Girls Sotball

Havenwood Girls Softball provides an annual one-time scholarship grant to one or two eligible High School Seniors who best meet the selection criteria below. We are currently accepting applications for the 2024 Havenwood Girls Softball Scholarship, through April 1st , 2024.

A Scholarship Application is available under the Online Forms menu (on the left) for printing and mailing to Havenwood Girls Softball, P.O. Box 387, Pasadena MD 21123 or the form can be submitted directly online by clicking here. Proof of grade point average may be requested after we receive an application.


Eligibility:
1. Participation: Applicant shall have played a minimum of four years for Havenwood Girls Softball.

2. Grade Point Average: Applicant shall have a GPA of 2.5 or better on 4.0 scale during her high school career.

3. Enrollment: Applicant must be a graduating high school senior enrolled as a full-time student in a college, university, or vocational school for the Fall semester following high school graduation.

4. Application: Completed applications must be received by April 1st for that year's scholarship review. No exceptions will be considered. 


Selection:
1. Participation: Applicant shall be evaluated on the number of years she participated in Havenwood Girls Softball. Because applicants are voted on by the current Board of Directors, current year or recent years participants may receive additional consideration.

2. Contribution: Applicant shall be evaluated on the contributions she made to the operation and success of Havenwood Girls Softball.

3. Athletics: Applicant shall be evaluated on her participation in High School softball or other sports.

4. Academics: Applicant shall be evaluated on the quality of her academic and other extra-curricular activities.

5. Short Essay: Applicant shall be evaluated on the content and quality of her written essay.




Scholarship Winners
Congratulations to Briana Burroughs, recipient of our 2023 Havenwood Girls Softball Scholarship Award.  Briana is a member of the 2023 graduating class at Northeast High School and played at Havenwood for 10 years and has volunteered and helped around the park for an additional 4 years. Briana is always a face we see when volunteers are needed to help with the many tasks around the park. Briana has assisted with organizing uniforms, helping in the concession stand, helping at Hit-a-thon Day, helping work on the fields and even umpiring a few games. Chances are, if you stopped by the concession stand, you have seen Briana.  Briana is planning to start her college journey at Hood College. Congratulations to Briana.
