Chris played varsity baseball for the Bears from 1995 through 1997 at first base and pitcher starting both the 1996 and 1997 seasons also making a first round appearance in the GHSA State Playoffs in 1997. After graduation, Chris went on to play one season at the University of South Carolina - Aiken. Chris had a tryout with the Los Angeles Dodgers in 1999 and played two seasons for the Bettis Pirates, a semi-pro team in South Carolina.

Chris taught baseball fundamentals at the former Batter's Box instruction facility in Waycross. Chris coached a midget baseball team at the BPCRD in 2004 and a travel team in Waycross in 2006. In 2011 and 2012, Chris coached a Flea baseball team (8 & under) at the Pierce County Recreation Department. In 2012, Chris was an assistant coach for the eight and under year old team representing Pierce County in the Georgia Parks and Recreation Departments state playoffs finishing sixth in the state.

Chris currently owns and operates Total Development Sports Academy in Blackshear with a mission of providing solid, fundamental athletic instruction while developing biblically based character, work ethic and confidence in children desiring to excel in athletics and, more importantly, life.

Coach Brooker, a PCHS alum of 2000, returned to Pierce County as the junior varsity head coach in the 2006 season and has remained as the varsity assistant since 2006. As a player for the Bears, Brooker set or tied 17 records for the program including career records for Batting Average, Stolen Bases, Slugging Percentage, Runs Scored, Runs Batted In, Hits, Doubles, Triples, Total Bases and Extra Base Hits. The former PCHS captain went on to play collegiate baseball for Chattahoochee Valley, Brewton-Parker and Thomas University. Playing shortstop for the TU Nighthawks Brooker led the team in batting average in 2003 and was named an Academic All-American in 2003 and 2004. He was named Thomas University’s Male Athlete of the year for 2003-2004 and graduated Magna Cum Laude in 2005.

Brooker has experienced 121 bear victories in his first 6 years working in the program. He was named region 2AA assistant coach of the year in 2007, 2008, and 2011. Furthermore, the team has finished in the Elite 8 in four of the past six years. Coach Brooker teaches U.S. History and Civics at Pierce County High School and holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Thomas University, a Master’s degree from Troy University and a Specialist degree from Nova Southeastern University.

Cole played baseball for the PCHS Bears from 2002-2005. After graduation, Cole attended Brewton Parker College then transferred to and graduated from the University of Georgia. Upon graduation from UGA, Cole took a job in the Long County school system where he served as the junior varsity head coach and assistant varsity baseball coach at Long County High School for the 2010-2011 school year.

In 2011, Cole moved into the Pierce County school system taking the position as assistant softball and assistant baseball coach at Pierce County Middle School.

During Cole's first year (2011) with the Lady Bears, they went undefeated winning all ten of their games in the regular season. The Lady Bears then went through the post season winning all three of their playoff games to win their first ever Southeastern Middle School Athletic Conference championship.

Jacob Evors graduated from PCHS in 2007 after playing for the Bears for four years lettering _?_ of those four years.

After graduating PCHS, Jacob played his first two years of collegiate baseball with the ABAC Stallions over in Tifton. During his second year at ABAC, Jacob played in all 53 of the Stallions games in 2009 while starting in 52 of them. In his second year, Jacob sported a .301 batting average for the fourth best out of 25 players. Jacob also hit 16 of the Stallion’s 41 home runs to lead the team in this category.

Upon finishing his second year at ABAC, Jacob transferred over to Brewton Parker College in Mount Vernon to play the the BPC Barons.

In 2011, Jacob and the Barons appeared in the Southern States Atletic Conference (SSAC) Tournament as the number two seed in the tournament and ranked thirteenth nationally.

Jacob and the Barons then went on to play in the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletic (NAIA) National Tournament for its second consecutive year.

UGA Career: Currently batting .283-8-63 through three seasons, appearing in 141 games including 110 starts.

During the summer of 2011, Brett traveled to New Hampshire to play for the Keene Swampbats in the New England Collegiate Baseball League. During the season, Brett played in 36 games batting .305 in 131 at bats. The Keene Swamp Bats beat the Laconia Muskrats in a battle of Granite State foes on Aug. 10 to win the New England Collegiate Baseball League championship in a two-game sweep. After the championship game, Keene head coach Marty Testo commented that Brett had earned the nickname “Mr. August” for his six home runs and 15 RBI in the playoffs.

David O'Neal started his PCHS baseball career in the 2005-2006 school year. David signed a scholarship/letter of intent with Armstrong Atlantic State University on November 12, 2008 but transferred over to the South Georgia College Tigers to play collegiate ball for two years after graduating PCHS in 2009.

Trey graduated from PCHS in 2010. In his senior year, Trey batted .393 with two home runs and nine stolen bases. Trey earned all-region honors in 2008 as a sophmore and again in the 2010 season.

Trey chose to attend the University of West Georgia to play baseball. As a freshman in 2011, Trey played in 10 games with six starts for the Wolves. His best performance on the year was against the Valdosta State Blazers where Trey went three for three with two runs scored. Other 2011 stats for Trey include a .455 batting average in 22 at bats, scored six runs on 10 hits with four runs batted in.
