Hello Texans and Darlings,
I would like to take the time to introduce myself to you and to tell you a little about my family. My name is Don Price and I am your 2009 La Porte Texans and Darlings President. My wife Edie and I have two sons, Dustin and Cameron. Dustin was a three year La Porte Texans Player. He will begin 8th grade next year where he will be a LOBO. Our youngest son will be a Junior Texan this season. I have been involved with our organization for 5 years. We joined the La Porte Texans/ Darlings in 2005. I accepted the position of Concessions Director for the 2006 season. I was asked to be an assistant coach for the Junior football team in the Fall of 2007. This will be my second year as President. With the support of your 2009 Board of Directors, it is a job that we have taken head! I am very excited about our upcoming season. With the help of the parents, coaches, and board members I am sure this is going to be one of our best years ever!
The 2009 Board is made up of a dedicated group of people, each one bringing ideas to best benefit the children of our organization. We are committed to providing the members of this club the best that TIFI has to offer.
We will do everything in our power to make sure this is a season they will remember and teach them good sportsmanship, integrity, and teamwork. We will need you as parents and fans to do your part. Support our kids. Lead by example. Volunteer your time. There are many things that need attention around the field. We can accomplish our goals and take 4 teams to the play offs and bring home 2 division one ratings in cheer and drill if we all work together.
The La Porte Texans and Darlings want to make sure that all of our children have a fun, safe and successful season. Remember to always tell your kids to hold there heads high and be proud of where they are and who they play for. LPTD is a family.
At anytime you have questions or concerns, don’t hesitate to ask. All we ask of you is to follow the appropriate chain of command. First talk to your coach, then the Athletic Director or Drill Director. If at that time you still feel that your questions have not been answered please contact either myself or our Vice President, Jason Wheeless.
Let’s make sure that we all remember the one reason we are out here, our children. These children look up to all of us so let’s conduct ourselves like adults. Football is a very exciting game and it can get very intense at times, but always remember that we are role models for our children as well as others. We are all representing our club and our community at these games, so let’s do it the right way. I’m looking forward to a great season, so come out and support ALL of your Texans and Darlings. Thank you and I will see you all in the Fall.
