Cost of Operation - Uniform Fees

If you are wondering where this uniform fee and all this fundraising money goes; hopefully this will answer some of your questions.
To outfit the team:
Singlets - $2480 - at least one set must be bought each season. Last year, we did not inherit a full set and had to start from scratch. Therefore, we purchased one set for the varsity and made do with what was left for JV. We have ordered new singlets this year and hope to pass down last years or share singlets with JV.
Warm-ups - $1850 - We will again make sure that our team looks like a team. Matching warm ups help our guys look good and know that they are a part of the team. All wrestlers receive the same warm up, varsity and JV.
T-shirts - $450 - Part of the uniform and essential for team appearance during warm up at tournaments and duals.
Shorts - $850 - Again, part of the uniform and essential for team appearance during warm up at tournaments and duals.
Hooded Sweatshirts - $825 - Helps to keep the wrestlers warm in the large gyms and keeps them in uniform between matches. Although not part of the regular uniform package. These will be available to all wrestlers.
Gear Bags - $300 - We want to make sure all wrestlers have a mesh bag to store their gear and allows the clothing, shoes and headgear to dry.
Practice T-shirts - $280 - these will be the sponsor shirts and will also be used during 2 day tournaments or on weeks when multiple events take place.
Coaches Apparel - $860 - We have to take account of our coaches who have 3 events in a normal week and make sure we are looking uniform for our wrestlers. This way they can always pick us out at tournaments and events. I also like to make sure we present a professional image at all events.
Additional items - $1225 - This could include a set of practice shorts, compression shorts to wear underneath singlets, or special items for region or state.
Competition Costs:
Tournaments Fees - $2575 - The average varsity tournament cost $175 to $200 just to compete. The average JV tournament is $150 each.
Officials - $3600 - $4200 - This is our major expenditure for the season. We will host 3 tournaments this year that incur major cost in official fees. We plan tournament fees to pay for these cost.
Hotels - $2300 - We plan one out-of-state tournament (Birmingham, AL) where we must stay overnight. This is a great experience for the varsity team and allows them to see competition they would not see otherwise. In addition, we must plan on spending 3 nights at the state tournament.
Misc. cost - $1000 - This will help pay for cost not anticipated while at competitions, out of state or at the state tournament. (food, fuel, medical supplies, additional rooms, etc.)
General Operational cost:
Wrestling Mat - $2000 - The school purchased our program a mat last year, and we must pay back a portion this year. The school has paid $6800 for the mat and only asked that we pay this amount.
Mat Tape - $198
Mat Cleaner - $100
Mops - $100
Scorebooks - $58
Coaching Supplements - $1500 - We have hired an additional coach to help us improve our team this year. This coach is not paid a supplement from the county.
Weight Room Fee - $500
Medical/Athletic Trainer Fees - $500
Facility Improvements - $??? - This will be determined as we progress toward and through the season.
Of course this list of costs does not include tournament medals, individual awards, banquet cost, youth program development and fees, pre-match meals (when applicable) and many other small expenditures. I wanted to just give you a taste of what is involved in planning for a season. We must raise all of this money as a booster club in advance of the actual cost. Therefore, please consider making your contribution as soon as possible and any extra is greatly appreciated by the entire program. Without some parents going above and beyond what is asked, we would not be able to enjoy the seeing a team that is always ready, uniform and proud to be a Warrior Wrestler.

Community Service Day at Acworth Elementary
October 29, 2007 --
We are proud to have had about 20 wrestlers give up their Saturday morning to help Acworth Elementary. Our wrestlers helped spread mulch and improve the overall appearance of the school. This was the first time we as a team participated in a community service event. It was an overwhelming success and I am proud of our athletes for participating. We definitely had the most participants of any North Cobb HS group. Thanks to Coach Prince for coordinating the event and working with our athletes on the project.
