The Northgate Men opened their season against Bay Area Power Oakland Tech High School. However, behind a loud 6th man and inspired play the Broncos appeared to be the power team jumping out to an 18-14 1st quarter lead and a 36-31 halftime lead. As much inspiration as the broncos were mustering they could simply not put Oakland Tech away as Tech battled back with timely 3 pointers and drives to the hoop all night. In the end  the Broncos would fall but not before giving the fans a very entertaining contest.

 

Jack Cartwright led all scorers with 19 points, including 3 or 4 awe inspiring left handed drives to the rack. Shane Spalding and Askon Aliyar both added 16 points for the Broncos who shot 20-47 from the field. Matt Bataska rounded out the Bronco scoring with a solid 8 points off the bench.
