Scholarship Program
We annually provide a one-time scholarship grant to one or two eligible high school seniors who best meet the Selection Criteria below. We are currently accepting applications for the 2009 scholarship, through March 31, 2008.
A Scholarship Application is available in Handouts for printing and mailing to PBC Scholarship, P.O. Box 461, Pasadena MD 21123. An online application is also available in Online Forms on the left menu. Proof of grade point average may be requested after we receive an application.
Eligibility: 1. Participation. Applicant shall have played a minimum of four years for the Pasadena Baseball Club or any of its former organizations (Havenwood L.L, Riviera L.L., or Pasadena C.L.). 2. Grade Point Average. Applicant shall have a GPA of 2.5 or better on 4.0 scale during their high school career. 3. Enrollment. Applicant shall be enrolled as a full-time student in a college, university, or vocational school for the fall semester following high school graduation.
Selection: 1. Participation. Applicant shall be evaluated on the number of years he/she participated in the Pasadena Baseball Club (or former organizations). 2. Contribution. Applicant shall be evaluated on the contribution he/she made to the operation of the Club besides mere participation. 3. Athletics. Applicant shall be evaluated on his/her participation in high school baseball or other sports. 4. Academics. Applicant shall be evaluated on the quality of his/her academic and other extra-curricular activities. 5. Short Essay. Applicant shall be evaluated on the content and quality of his/her written essay.

Former Pasadena Baseball Club players who are playing baseball in college or the pros. Jason played for the Havenwood Little League. He went to Liberty College and was drafted by the New York Yankees in 2004. He is currently (2008) playing for the Trenton Thunder (AA).Chorye Spoone - Minor League Stats. Chorye played baseball for Northeast High School and Catonsville Community College. He was drafted by the Baltimore Orioles in 2005. He is currently (2008) playing for the Bowie Baysox (AA).Bryan Woolford - Chesapeake College. Bryan played for the Riviera Little League and for the Maryland Lakers. He graduated from Northeast High School and played in the 2006 Brooks Robinson All-Star Game.Rich Porohnavi - Wallace State University. Rich played for the Havenwood Little League and Pasadena Baseball Club. He graduated from Northeast High School in 2006 and played in the 2006 Brooks Robinson All-Star Game.
Jesse Wiggington - Dundalk Community College. Jesse played for the Riviera Little League. He graduated from Chesapeake High School in 2006.
Chris Henry - Dundalk Community College. Chris played in the Havenwood Little League and Pasadena Baseball Club. He graduated from Northeast High School in 2007 and played in the 2007 Brooks Robinson All-Star Game.
Chris Moore - Dundalk Community College. Chris played for the Riviera Little League and Pasadena Baseball Club. He graduated from Chesapeake High School in 2007 and was "Pitcher of the Game" in the 2007 Brooks Robinson All-Star Game.
