Overlapping Video
Watch this video - notice how the keeper starts the attack by giving to the fullback. Watch how the midfielder overlaps. The defender from the other team is forced to challenge the one midfielder and can't react to the overlapping player. Even though the midfielder who overlapped scored, you can see in the background the forwards racing to the net to give options to the midfielder and to clean up a missed shot. This is what we keep stressing to you - the overlap is a valuable attacking tool!
