August 20 & 21, 2010 - Dewitt, Michigan - - Angels for a Cure’ sought to walk in Ox Roast Parade- Brandon’s Defense will sponsor “Angels for a Cure” again this year in the DeWitt Ox Roast Parade on Saturday, Aug. 21st. Family and friends of Matt Schoals, Brandon Gordon and Tatum Wallace (as possibly others) plan to honor the kids that lost their battle with cancer. The participants will walk the parade with blue and yellow balloons for Matt, green and white for Brandon and pink and purple for Tatum. Immediately after the parade, the balloons will be released to our hometown heroes/angels. Anyone interested in walking in the parade should meet at the fire station downtown at 8:30 a.m. Saturday. “Angels for a Cure” t-shirts will be available during the Ox Roast at Brandon’s Defense booth. There will be foundation and “Gordie #22” merchandise available, as well as a silent auction to raise money and awareness for childhood cancer.
Aug. 18, 2010 - East Lansing, Mich. - Skate with the Pros - As a fundraiser for MSU hockey's Shoot for a Cure initiative to raise money for the fight against children's cancer, fans will be invited to take part in the second annual "Skate with the Pros", featuring several former Michigan State players now playing professional hockey. The event will be held on Wednesday., August 18 from 5-7 p.m. at Munn Ice Arena. Admission will be $10 per person, with every dollar collected going to Sparrow Hospital's "Cure Kids Cancer" and to Brandon's Defense Foundation.

May 2, 2010 on the MSU campus, ending in Spartan Stadium! Each team member is to seek 22 pledges for $22. If you get at least 10 pledges, Brandon’s Defense will pay your entry fee for the race! If we get 22 participants, they get 22 pledges for $22 we will make over $10,000! Our ultimate goal would be to make $22,000!
January 30, 2010 - Joe Louis Arena, Detroit, MI - Shoot for a Cure - The Spartan hockey team adopted Brandon during their quest for the 2007 National Championship and started “Shoot for a Cure” to raise money for childhood cancer. Now they have partnered with Brandon’s Defense to continue the fight to find a cure! This is the final release for Saturday’s Shoot for a Cure silent auction at Joe Louis Arena.

June 27, 2009 – East Lansing, Michigan (MSU Campus) - Max's Race - Max died in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit at Sparrow Hospital on March 12, 2005 at the age of 6. This event is in lasting memory of Max, his will and love. Brandon will be honored at this year’s race. Over 600 participants and at least another 100 volunteers will participate at this year’s event.
May 23, 2009 – Sandy Pines Camping Resort - Flea Market Booth - Brandon’s Defense Foundation will have a spot at the flea market next Saturday at Sandy Pines. Several of Brandon’s friends will be manning the booth. There will be bake goods, Gordie/Brandon’s Defense t-shirts, six pack coolers, backpacks and bracelets available.
May 15 & 16, 2009 – St. Johns, Michigan - Relay for Life - Two years ago this weekend Brandon’s Bantam St. Johns hockey team came together not for a hockey game but to walk for a cure for Brandon… they developed “Brandon’s Defense #22" and participated in the Relay for Life in honor of their teammate and friend. This year is the 3rd annual “Brandon’s Defense” relay for life. Thanks for your continued support!

3rd Annual, “GOLF FOR GORDIE”, Benefit for Brandon’s Defense - In Brandon’s memory, his family and friends are hosting this golf outing and hope that you will join Gordie’s team to “shoot for a cure” to help save our children! Proceeds will go directly to the “Brandon’s Defense Foundation” to continue to build awareness to childhood cancer, fund sarcoma research, help families in our community with resources and necessities to aid them in their journey – and hopefully bring Brandon’s memorable smile to other children’s faces.
