Recruiting

It is not up to the Arbor View coaching staff to get your son a scholarship!  Its up to him.

We will do everything in our power through contacts, sending film out, phone calls, etc...but the bottom line is it's on your son.  Academics and character play a huge role!  If your son wants to play college football, we will work hard to find what is right for him.

-  The recruiting process started yesterday.  Get started now.

-  Recruiting starts with 3rd party information. (HS Coach, combines or camps)

-  College coaches evaluate prospects online.  Get into their database.  Research college      programs and complete online prospect forms

-  Be Realistic!  less than 1% get a full ride - less than 5% of all HS football players will play at any level.  Understand and accept your projected collegiate level.  You may have to swallow your pride.  If you think your son is a star - then you have set him and yourself up for disappointment.

-  Don't blame your coach!  If you do not have a good relationship with your head coach-it's up to you to fix it.  He is the first person a college coach will see when he enters your building!

5 Things You Must Do To Get Recruited

1.  Develop your game plan to get recruited.  Remember character plays a huge role!

2.  Post your academic resume online.  Grades are important!  2.5+ GPA; 17 ACT minimum.  A lot of online prospect forms will require academic information.

3.  Create a winning highlight/skills video. (HUDL)

4.  You need to contact 50/100 or more Realistic Programs! Visit LINKS page for listing of regional colleges.

5.  It's not a 4 year decision; it's a 40 year decision.  (Get it right)

Evaluation of your son happens 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year. Social media can cost you an opportunity.

  QUESTIONNAIRES

Most college football teams have online questionnaires in which a prospective athlete can complete to indicate you have an interest in their program. Questionnaires are tools college coaches use to learn more about players and to develop their recruiting list. Be honest and thorough with the information you provide.
