Pepi Dragotta Shares His Lifesaving Story and Gift

April 17, 2016

President Jeff Bordley (Left) Pepi Dragotta (Right)

East Vineland Little League has been graced with a tremendous gift. Pepi Dragotta suffered a tragedy approximately 5 months ago. He credits many individuals with saving his life that day as he was provided with CPR until the ambulance arrived at the Cohansey Soccer Club. He was then shocked with an Automated External Defibrillator (AED). Pepi detailed his story and states that due to this life saving tool not being available at the field when he suffered a Sudden Cardiac Arrest he could have died if it wasn't for the CPR he received from trained First Responders.

Through this tragedy, Pepi turned it into a Pay-It-Forward positive. Pepi's family and friends threw a benefit in his honor. Instead of spending the money on himself or family, Pepi looked into starting a foundation and purchasing AED equipment for Cumberland County recreation facilities. Cathy Jost, East Vineland Little League's Education Officer, heard of this foundation and contacted Pepi about the AED. Without hesitation Pepi gathered the resources and obtained another AED for East Vineland Little League.

Pepi attended today's meeting and shared his story which was incredible and we thank God that he was able to survive this tragedy. Pepi gifted us this life saving device to have in the unfortunate event we are faced with a similar event, we can act to save a life.

East Vineland Little League is proud to have met Pepi today and we are extremely grateful for his donation to our facility and our East Vineland Little League Family.
