Todd Frazier (infielder NY Mets, 2012 Players Choice Award winner for most outstanding rookie, winner 2015 All Star Game Home Run Derby)

Johnny was a player that everyone looked up to.  He showed great leadership and determination that helped others strive to bring out the best in them.  When it comes to instructing others, he has a way of relating to young kids that makes them strong in baseball, both mentally and physically.

Zack Granite (outfielder Minnesota Twins, Big East freshman athlete of the year)

Johnny DeFendis helped me reach my goal of playing at a Division I program.  He breaks down every aspect of hitting and will work with you until it is engrained in you.  With all the drills and equipment Johnny's place has, I felt more confident about my game.  Not only working on the physical part, but also the mental part which is just as important.  Johnny talked to me after the games to make sure I was doing well and working hard.  He truly cared about how I did and took pride in helping me become a better baseball player.

Bobby Lanigan (pitcher Minnesota Twins)

There are not many more passionate or knowledgeable about the game of baseball around than Johnny DeFendis.  Every minute spent working with him and his staff will be a minute you've improved your game.

Joe DiRocco (pitcher Seattle Mariners)

I played with Frank (Esposito) for 4 years at Seton Hall University.  I can honestly say that Frank was the best defensive catcher I ever played with.  He had a strong arm and blocked everything.  Frank also knew how to call a great game from behind the plate and was very easy to work with.  Frank is very outgoing and knows a lot about catching.  He is a great coach/instructor with a ton of knowledge.

Ryan Harvey (pitcher Texas Rangers)

In my 10 years of pitching I have never thrown to better catcher than Frank (Esposito).  The amount of trust I had in him and the knowledge he gave to me helped me tremendously.  His ability to frame, block, call a game and to form a relationship with a pitcher is second to none.

JJ Franco (drafted by NY Mets out of high school)

Working with Johnny provided me with good insight as to how to build a model swing.  His knowledge of the game was apparent during our sessions.  Among those essentials, what also makes Johnny stand out is his proximity to the younger generation which helped him relate to my relationship with the game.

Dear Johnny.  I am writing to tell you about a recent experience I had with Kevin Long, the NY Yankees hitting coach.  I attended a clinic at Diamond Nation which was run by Kevin.  When it was my turn to be evaluated, he told me that whoever my hitting instructor is was doing a great job!  He said he didn't need to make any corrections to my stance or swing.  It was nice to hear, especially coming from Kevin Long.  I just want to thank you for everything you've taught me so far and for helping me to achieve my goal in becoming a better baseball player.

Coach John has great knowledge of hitting.  His willingness to spend extra time with my son is invaluable.  My son has been with John for three years and in that time has shown steady improvement at each level of ball he has played.  He has shown us numerous drills to help correct some common problems.  His personable approach allows us to be able to contact him at any time when we have questions about hitting in general.  I would highly recommend John if you want to take your hitting to another level.
