Senior, Varsity squad – Natalie Pensak received her Girl Scout Gold Award on Monday May 23, 2011.

The Gold award is the highest award that can be achieved in Scouting. Natalie taught other young people how to make knotted fleece blankets.
The colorful blankets then were given to the Goryeb Children’s Hospital in Morristown. The purpose was to provide warmth and comfort to young children who are afraid when they enter the hospital. The children were then able to bring the blanket home with them, the announcement said.
She also collected over 1,000 children’s books and distributed these to the hospital and to other places as well.

The RHS Cheerleaders participated in a Community Service event for HOPE for Autism Foundation and Bernards Parents of Exceptional Children (PEC). About 15 RHS cheerleaders prepared goody bags, cheered for RHS boys and girls basketball players and handed out keychains, t-shirts and necklaces provided by the Booster Club to get the fans excited about a basketball game against the Harlem Wizards. The RHS Cheer Program was elated about the opportunity to contribute to Autism Awareness Month.
