About Eastside / Mission Statement
History
Back in the 80's soccer was beginning to flourish and it was obvious that there was a need for organized soccer to serve Saint Paul Eastside youths.
A handful of parents and soccer enthusiasts decided to tackle such a feat. In 1988, under the leadership of Neil Carter, the Eastside Soccer Club was officially established under the Articles of Incorporation by the State of Minnesota. The Eastside Soccer Club became an affiliated member of the Minnesota Youth Soccer Association (MYSA) on August 31, 1991. Since then, Eastside has grown from four teams to thirteen, producing many championship teams. Some teams have gone on to win USA Cup and MYSA State Tournaments, not to mention countless regional tournaments.
Today, the Eastside Soccer Club is comprised of volunteers dedicated to promoting and developing soccer skills for youths of the East metro area.
Eastside's traveling soccer teams give kids an opportunity to play at a high level of competition while at the same time providing a soccer experience based upon the essence of good sportsmanship, comaraderie and community spirit.
Mission Statement
The Eastside Soccer Club is a non-profit organization created for the purposes of providing affordable, competitive soccer primarily for East Metro youths 19 years of age and under. It is dedicated to promoting, fostering, and perpetuating the game of soccer for players in a positive environment; to teaching and enhancing youth soccer skills; to raising and instilling community spirit; and to increasing players’ self-esteem and physical fitness.
