SAINTS win 10U Superbowl!
Forney Saints 9 - Forney Cowboys 6
Who could call themselves the Number One team in the Junior Division?
The Superbowl contest between the 10-1 Forney Saints and the 10-1 Cowboys was held at Crandall Pirate High School Stadium on Saturday, November 22. The Saints completed an outstanding season by defeating the Cowboys 9-6. These two teams met up twice before in the regular season. The Cowboys won the initial meeting while the Saints won the second game. Both teams dominated their regular season opponents, creating a highly anticipated final showdown with the Championship title and year long bragging rights on the line.
In the first half the Cowboys potent offense brought everything they had and inched into the end zone on a fourth down play to take a 6-0 lead. Once the Saints defense settled in, they took control of the game holding the Cowboys offense to their lowest point total of the year. At the half, realizing an epic defensive game was brewing, the Saints decided the game would be won by field position. The Saints kicked the ensuing kickoff deep, backing the Cowboys up and allowing the Saints defense to go to work. The plan worked perfectly with amazing play from the Saints devastating defense keeping the Cowboys deep in their own territory. After the second consecutive defensive stand, the Saints offense punched the ball in from 6 yards out straight up the middle to even the score.
Philip Hawthorne, the leagues’ best field goal kicker (18 of 27 on the season) and the Special Teams MVP, put one through the uprights for the final score of the game. Thereafter, the Saints defense eliminated all doubt about who the number one team is.
Once again…
The Saints…Work Hard, Play Hard…Compete with Honor!

Incredible Pizza Night for the Junior Saints
The Junior Saints had a great time on Thursday night. Andy and Katie Anderson treated the boys to the all you can eat pizza buffet (you wouldn't believe how much pizza a football team can eat!) and an hour of gaming fun. The boys and their families rode go carts, played games, and had a fantastic time. Click on the Photo Album link on the left to see some more pics from the night.
Thanks, Coach Andy and Katie Anderson, for all you do!
