Glen Batson, an Update
February 22, 2012
As most know, I believe, our Glen Batson will have his shoulder surgery tomorrow am. please keep him and his surgical success in your thoughts and prayers as we look forward to a success report from susan and glen, and a very fast and quick recovery. Glen’s value to all of us this year will remain as, if not more, significant as before, and his impact no less felt in his 2012 role on this team.

Evan Smith Updates
Evan is now out of surgery and will be going home shortly. All of the past week’s efforts by many and Evan’s tenacity to handle all this have enabled him to keep a small portion of his pinky. This is significant to the degree it allows him to utilize this portion for leverage and as a type of hook. The severity of the break in his knuckle did not allow for any more of the finger to be saved. Evan is so ready for degrees of normalcy in all aspects of his life. Another very tough and remarkable young man.

Cameron and now Evan have reminded us how lucky we are and how much we have to pray and play for………

Go RAIDERS

3/16 3.32pm

After consideration of all opinions, and weighing all options , Evan has elected w/ the full advantage of his faith, and w/ incredible courage, to forego his pinky finger, and proceed from here a better and stronger young man because of such. The next 48 hours in particular will be met w/ additional procedures and the rollercoaster of emotions…..so please take a sec or two, cast a prayer, and keep him and his family in your daily thoughts. We will post again, soon. 3/15 11.30 am

This team is learning much more than the value of a score

www.tollisonlawfirmpa.comHe has been discharged from the hospital. For some reason he did not like that place. His spirits have improved since being home. Mostly buoyed by his friends, family and faith. You touched on our biggest hurdle, the "why" aspect. Medically we are not in a positive mode. We have doctor visits schedule for the next several days. After Tuesday morning I will be more definitive in our course of action. Thanks to all for your thoughts and prayers. They have made the biggest difference in Evan's approach to this.3/14 1137am

Yesterday (3/10) we once again experienced a significant and unusual event that led to a serious accident involving one of our players and family members, Evan Smith. The incident occurred in the parking lot after school and when Evan’s pinky finger on his left hand got caught between two cars and doors and as a result was partially severed. Evan was able to quickly align himself w/ a team of physicians and surgeons and underwent a lengthy and very complicated surgery last night to repair the veins and nerves in the finger. Last night post recovery all seemed to be going as hoped, and over the night and into the morning Evan began having difficulty w/ the compromise and loss of blood flow.

Please keep Evan and his family in your prayers. Today and the days following are critical, and we will continue to post news as it comes to us. Please also keep these kids and their coaches in your prayers as all have been shaken by some of these unusual events and the impact they have had on the hearts of these men. 3/11 1156
