Game Expectations
1. Arrive at the game 45 minutes prior to game start. You must be dressed in full uniform including hair up, bangs pinned back off of face, no jewelry, and proper socks and shoes. NO EXCEPTIONS! Please be sure to use the restroom before arriving. We do not have time to get ready. During this time we will warm-up for 15 minutes, review necessary material and be ready to cheer 15 minutes prior to the game starting. If you arrive after that time you will sit out the first half beside your coach and cheer from the stands.
2. Travel in school transportation when required. When traveling by bus, you must arrive on time to board the bus, you must be dressed in full uniform, including hair up, bangs pinned back off of face, no jewelry, proper socks and shoes. NO EXCEPTIONS! The bus is not the place to get ready.
3. You must have complete uniform neat and clean, at all games. If you do not have complete uniform you will not be able to cheer in the game. You will sit out the game beside your coach and cheer from the stands.
4. Remain in cheering area (chant lines) during the game.
5. Do no talk during the game and/or during chants. Save the conversations for after the game. You must remain focused on the game (actively watch the game in between chants).
6. Follow the game agenda.
7. Half-time – you must be back in chant lines at the 2 minute mark, ready to cheer the second half of the game.
8. Execute chants and routines correctly.
9. 2 Foot Rule (2 feet must come off the ground) after every chant/cheer you must do a jump, tumble, or kick.
10. Control and lead the crowd through organized chants and cheers.
11. Display correct and leadership skills. This is the LEADER part of Cheerleader. Remember you are a representative of HHS Cheer.
12. Do not socialize with the players or crowd during the game.
13. Follow team leaders and do not tell them the chants you do or do not want to do.
14. Follow the coach’s directive at games.
15. Do not chew gum at games.
16. Perform stunts that have only been perfected. All stunts must have the proper amount of spotters.
