Manchester District Thinking Day!
Healthy Foods and Healthy Living
from Around the World….
Sunday, February 22nd, 2009
1 – 4:30pm
Messiah Lutheran Church
S. Main St., Green
*Each troop will need to choose and research one of the 144 countries that participate in WAGGGS.
*Each troop will have a table set up for their country. Please bring a "healthy food" which is from your country, to share. Think small and simple. (i.e. mangos, oranges, healthy drink, etc.)
*We would like to have each troop have an activity station at your table.
*Each troop will have 5 minutes to present their country to the other troops. Please share a little about what you learned, what foods they eat, how healthy living effects their people. If diseases significantly effect your country, tell us what the country/government or others are doing to fix it and what WE could do to help. Perhaps, sharing information about the importance of immunizations to combat childhood diseases
*Each person needs to bring a sack lunch. Troop 991 will provide drinks for everyone.
*Each troop will need to bring SWAPS to share. There are approximately 90 girls in Manchester GS.
*We will have a table set up for the JLWFF and WAGGGS. As a service project, each person attending will be required to bring a non-perishable food item for the Akron/Canton Regional Food Bank.
*Cost: The cost for each girl will be $6.00. Only those girls who prepay and preregister will receive a patch.
**Deadline for registration will be Sunday, February 15th. RSVP to Daisy DiSanto.
