For those of you who have been involved with the MRC girl’s lacrosse program for several years, I think it is safe to say that, under Ken Krug’s leadership, this program has exploded. We continue to grow and introduce exciting new ideas for the girls benefit. Our program is looked at with respect not only by other MRC sports programs, but by the league that our travel teams play in. Our Scoopers program has over 60 girls in it. Every Saturday morning they are out at Memorial field learning the fundamentals of the game. It is a great time to be involved with MRC lacrosse!
On many occasions, we hear people say, “If we can do anything to help, let us know.” Well, here is that time. After last years end of year tournament, we were requested by the South Jersey Youth Lacrosse League to host the event for 2013. With Cherokee High School available to us, we knew that we would once again have one of the best facilities to host the event. So on June 2nd, MRC Lady Chiefs Lacrosse will be hosting the Borbi, Clancey, & Patrizi, South Jersey Youth Lacrosse Festival and Championship.
This is where you come in. In order to have a successful tournament, we need volunteers-A LOT OF VOLUNTEERS! We have a committee of people who have been working hard to organize this event. We are now at the point when we need to schedule manpower. We are looking for volunteers for set-up on Saturday and from about 7:00am until about 4:30pm on June 2nd. Concessions, field marshals, scorers, and manning the information desk are just a few of the jobs that will need to be filled.
Very shortly, we will have a website available that will allow you to sign up for jobs. The blocks could run anywhere from a couple of hours to a few hours. The schedule for the Marlton teams will be made available prior to you signing up. This way, you won’t have to worry about missing your daughter’s games.
This is another opportunity for our community to shine. Please help this tournament be successful by volunteering!
Thanks for your cooperation!
