The Mavericks 14U White finshed second at the Sid Lee Viking Classic at South Brunswick. The team defeated the Hillsborough Hurricanes 13-3 in the semifinal game, but then lost to the Roseland Knights 7-3 in the finals. Congratulations girls on a great tournament.

The 12U Mavericks White ended a successful 2011 season by winning the championship at the "Softball with Attitude" tournament in Amwell. After going 2-1 on Saturday in 100-degree temperatures, the team was seeded 6th of 12 teams, needing to win three games on Sunday just to reach the championship game. Behind solid defense, timely hitting, and strong pitching on Sunday, the Mavericks swept their way to the tournament championship by winning 4 games, defeating the Amwell Attitude 12-0, the Montclair Magic 5-0, Ewing Edge 3-1, and the Jackson Renegades 12-4 in the championship game.

The tournament capped the girls’ 19-10 season during which the Mavericks made it to the semi-finals of the 12U MidState League and placed second at the Cheesequake Fun in the Sun Tournament in June. Congratulations girls and enjoy the rest of your summer- you deserve it!!!!!!

The 12U Mavericks White finished second at the Cheesequake Fun in the Sun Tournament this past weekend.

The Mavericks opened the tournament against the host Cheesequake Dolphins. The girls got off to a great start in the tournament, winning the game 11-0 on sound hitting, fielding, and pitching. The girls then played the Marlton Thunder. The lead changed hands a number of times throughout the game, with the Thunder eventually winning the game 9-5. The Mavericks next faced the Jersey Wildcats. Having to play three games in row, the Mavericks were a little worn and lost to the Wildcats to end their day on Saturday. The Mavericks finished with a 1-2 record, and received the third seed for Sunday.

The Mavericks started off Sunday with a rematch against the Marlton Thunder. This time, the Mavericks jumped out to an early lead and never relinquished it, winning 8-5. In the finals, the Mavericks faced a rematch with the Jersey Wildcats. The girls fought hard but the Wildcats were too strong and beat the Mavericks for the Tournament Championship.
