James Noble was born March 19, 1986 in Barstow, CA where he played football at Barstow HS and later at Cal Poly Pomona.

Noble, a redshirt freshman, was named a Great West Co-Offensive Player of the Year after he rushed for 1,493 yards and 15 touchdowns in 10 games, averaging 7.2 yards per carry and 149.3 yards per game, fourth best in Division I-AA. Noble has cracked the 100-yard mark eight times, including a pair of 200-yard performances.

As a Sophomore, Noble surpassed the 100-yard mark for the second time this season and 10th in his Mustang career as No. 5 Cal Poly defeated Weber State 17-0 in a non-conference football game Saturday night at Stewart Stadium. Noble gained 110 yards on 27 carries and scored Cal Poly's first touchdown of the game on a one-yard run as the Mustangs improved to 2-0 on the season. Weber State fell to 0-2.

In an game vs. UC Davis, James Noble and Matt Brennan scored third-quarter touchdowns on short runs as No. 5 Cal Poly rallied from a 10-3 halftime deficit to defeat No. 16 UC Davis 23-17. Noble finished with 121 yards on 23 carries, his 12th career 100-yard game. He broke off 40 and 28-yard runs in the fourth quarter to keep Mustang drives alive.

RB James Noble Cal Poly 5-6 180 Sr., was selected All-Great West football First Team for the 2008 college football season as voted on by the league head coaches.
